Problems with Samba install

TheGeek
im trying to install samba on my PII machine to work as a file server. Im running DS Linux and using the latest version of Samba, and for some reason the configure file wont work when i type in ./configure. It says something like looking for cc...no and then somethign else and it says ...no again, and then says that it cant configure for some reason.

Anyone know why it wont configure? Im really confused.

If there is anything I know about SMB it doesn't take much to crap out your smb.config file. Really you could have just about a million things wrong. I know you don't want to hear this but your error report is really vauge. You might consider using copy and paste to get the exact error message. You should also include your smb.config file to take out any guesswork.
