about: .htaccess

Anyone here who is an expert of .htaccess?

I have a few problems, and it would be good for someone to guide me along to fix it.

For instance:

I created some ErrorDocument entries, and place the .htaccess to the root directory. I have a forum directory within the root directory, where a subdomain forum.xxxx.net is pointed to it. However, when forum.xxxx.net/idontthinkthisfolderexist is entered, it does not call for the error document specified in the .htaccess, even those the folder doesn't exist.

Any advice?

create another .htaccess in your folder directory with the same error lines. If you went to yoursite.com/forum/doesntexist the main .htaccess works but as you visit from a different domain forum.yoursite.com it sort of ignores it and looks for its own.
