Say you up and died right now, what 3 songs would you want played at your funeral?
Keep in mind, these (in retrospect) represent your final words to the world, these songs dont have to decribe you in any way, they just have to be what your saying to the world as you lie and what would be your final goodbye.
Mine would (at the moment) have to be:
Forget About Me - Artist unknown
I'm OK - Styx
Creep - Radiohead
those songs are exactly what I want to say as I lie there, ready to be hauled off and thrown in the ground. Those are what my final goodbye would be.
~Charlie Kilo
I wouldn't even play any song at my funeral I'm all dead and cant hear the song, so I'll just let everyone look at me and then I go in peace. I'm dead just want people to look at my body and then leave.

Faithless - God is a DJ
Faithless - God is a DJ
Faithless - God is a DJ
Its a really interesting question. I can't think of three songs but the one I'd seriously like to play is Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional.
The lyrics go -
"I am Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself"
In fact I want those words on my tombstone.
1. Small Town - John Cougar Mellencamp
2. My Way - Frank Sinatra
And since (if I died this very instant), I'd be leaving my son behind, I'd have them play:
3. Watching Scotty Grow - Bobby Goldsboro
This is a tough question..
Id start with The sounds of silence - Simon and Garfunkle while everybody arrived.
Then somewhere in the middle id have Washer - Slint.
And while everyone leaves Banshee beat - Animal Collective
In My Life-The Beatles
Stairway to Heaven-Led Zeppelin
Watching the Wheels-John Lennon
Free bird by lynard skynard because I would be up in the clouds.
(Everything I do) I do it for you by bryan adams because it is my parents wedding song.
Shooting Star by bad company because of it talking about one of the greates people ever (jimi hendrix)
The regular old moody gloomy funeral music? I don't know if I'd like having some death metal or whatever music playing when I'm about to be remembered at a funeral.
Hmmm....Fiona Apple's Cover of "Across the Universe" is haunting...
And maybe...Coldplay - Trouble...Sad in a not kinda way...
Then Finally, Air - Playground Love...those of you who have seen The Virgin Suicides realise at the end the profound effect it has...good movie, good song, good funeral!
Ech...depressing.
it good topic
1 cob everytime i die
2 in the woods cloding in
3 tiamat gaia
I remembered another song (or rather songs!), I'd like to play Enigma, not sure which song, but I think Knocking on Forbidden Doors
just no songs for me please..
on my funeral, songs are irritating.. the only sound that can be heard during my funeral will be weeping of the people whom i love so much..
muahaha..
tsk tsk..

LOL that kind of great. I might also just play some songs so I can ruin them for people
When they lay my body in a boat and have set it on fire at the river, would I like "Gates of Valhalla" by Manowar been played. That would be nice..
Cheers!
Ah, the joys of a little dark humour at the forums.
I would say that I would have some rockin' happy tunes or just something really cool and groovy. There is really only one I would consider now:
Great Gig in the Sky - Pink Floyd
I'll have to come up with others when I'm older and y'know, more likely to kick it.

How about the original?
I think sad songs would just make people depressed. I would want things to make people like yea we lost one of our friends but we still have a life to live. We can't get all depressed over this. Depressing songs do that sadly. If it where a happy song then people wouldn't be depressed. It just isn't the way i want it.

well, i was just about to post the same exact thing that you just said, so.. yeah i concur with you i would want something to make people a lilttle happier you know? something uplifting
mayebe some rock
who knows? i'll be dead, but i dont want people all saddened even more by sad music.
I don't know if there's much point having songs played at your funeral. You might say its for people to remember you by, but then the songs which you select are most likely to be more relavant to you than other people. At any rate i wouldn't want to tint anything which i think of as beautiful for anybody else. Like when i hear songs i've heard at funerals im unable to disassociate the song from the person. And i don't want to cry whenever i'm in a music store and simply red comes on. At the end of the day i guess i see it as a really bland form of association and almost a manipulation from beyond the grave, and i'd rather remember a person for who they are or what they gave me, than from a song which may or may not represent that person.
But if i really wanted my family and friends to cry from the core it'd have to be:
Untitled 3 by Sigur Ros
Ley de Gravedad by Ojos de Brujo
Babe i wanna leave you by Led Zeppelin
I thing, that my life is Radiohead, so I would like "hear" some songs like Kid A National anthem or Pyramid song
but these are not good for this purpose
Theoretically I up and died right now because I just put a gun to my head and pulled the trigger or ate a couple bottles of pills or poison because my job is so f'n boring all i do is read forums all day....easy
I would like...drum roll...
Amazing Grace on the bagpipes non stop until I reincarnate into a zombie and eat everyones brains.
THRILL-LAH....THRILL-LAH night....
hmm.
My Chemical Romance - Ghost of You
Soul Coughing - Super Bon Bon
Dresden Dolls - Good Day
something like those...

Wow. . . . you are a total ****** loser! Why dont you not even come into this thread if you just going to flame people? If your going to be off topic, dont do it here. I asked a question, I didnt ask it so people can get flamed because of there choice of response. I hope you get banned, and get struck with lightning to the groin 100,000,000 times. Can a mod please ban him from this thread?
My funeral must be a greet party, so the only music i like to here is from the darkraver, i will die thats for sure, Rotterdam hardcore will never die!!!
Ok, for my funeral, I want a band of guys playing the bagpipes while I burn in a boat out floating out to see. To be even cooler, someone should fire some burning arrows over the boat as it goes out. beat that.
Not sure... thought about this before breifly but here goes:
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zep
Alberto Baslam - Aphex Twin (un-decided, but probably another Aphex track)
Out of Space - Prodigy
Would be a pretty weird funeral.
Out of space at a funeral
Can I come?
Sure, it's 2090 deathclock says!
Astro Zombies - The Misfits
Alex Chilton - The Replacements
November Fire - Samhain
Simple choices:
1. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem
2. Tonci Huljic's Explosive
3. Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Minor- Allegretto
These are the definites.
Some songs with meaning
1. Offspring - Gone Away
2. Soulfly - Flyhigh
3. A Perfect Circle - Thinking Of You
Pretty sad that I've thought about this, huh?
1. Now is the Hour - Russel Watson
Now is the hour, when we must say goodbye
Soon I'll be sailing, far across the sea
While you're away, oh please remember me
When you return you'll find me waiting here
2. One Sweet Day - Mariah Carey (preferably sung by a live choir)
Sorry I never told you all I wanted say
Now it's too late to hold you and you've flown away, so far away
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've known along the way...
3. I'll Cover You (funeral reprise) - from RENT
I've longed to discover something as true as this
If you are cold and you're lonely (I'll cover you)
You've got one nickel only (I'll cover you)
When you're worn out and tired (I'll cover you)
When your heart has expired (I'll cover you)
Oh lover, I'll cover you.[/i]

ON your tombstone? That would be quite tight. I would pay to see that. Then I would piss on your grave, cuz I dont know you. But for real, thats pretty deep man.
Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet with Butterfly Wings
- Very Catchy but quite emo/grunge so its perfect for a funeral.
Alkaline Trio - F*** You aurora
- I Love the lyrics "My, my what a mess we've made, of our pretty little heads these days."
From First to Last - Such a tragedy
- I love the lyric "You used to be my angel, but now your more like the devil."
we ought to sing songs for the bereaved ones and not for the dead. so this are the songs i prefer whenever i die. well honestly when i die, i dont want my body to be displayed, i want to be cremated immediately.
Here are my songs by the way.
Everything you do - Christian Bautista
Peace in the midst of the storm - Religious one (I forgot the composer)
Find us Faithful - Religious again
Geez, i feel as if im dying sooner now.
wish you where here - pink floyd
paranoid android - radiohead
always look on the bright side of life - monthy python
Only The Good Die Young - Iron Maiden.
Alone - Arcturus
Dance Of Death - Iron Maiden.
Well... after thinking, a lot, I ended up with these songs:
Bless the Child - Nightwish
The Rose - Made to Janis Joplin
Broken - Sonata Arctica
Naturtraene by Nina Hagen Band
Round Here by Counting Crows
Nature Boy by David Bowie
But I won't make any promisses I plan to live on for a couple of years and I am well known for changing my mind
First I'll congratulate the author of this fun-eral idea - it's a funny question.
One good music to be played several times would be:
Don't wory, be happy - Bobby McFarlain.
One music to remind people that I'm still in the neighbourhood:
Still got the blues - Gary Moore
And another one to talk about life:
Life is life nana nanana - don't know the band
choosing only three is a bit tough but here goes:
"Closing Time" - Leonard Cohen
"Hallelujah" - Jeff Buckley
"Not A Pretty Girl" - Ani Difranco
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd (Of course.)
Can't Always get What you Want - The Stones
Imagine - John Lennon
There's about 600 other songs I'd like played, but, I have decided that those are my favorites.
I'll use some soundtrack songs.
From Braveheart or Ave Verum or something.
At my funeral, I'd liked played:
1.Peter Gabriel - "I Grieve"
2.David Bowie- "Seven"
3.U2 - "Gone"
There's probably some others that I can't think of right now, but that seems like a good list.
wow, erm..
I'd have to go with, in the exact order
-Tearjerker by KoRn "Please tell me there's something better"
-prevent this tragedy by Alkaline Trio "i'm begging you to stop praying for me"
-I will follow you into the dark by Death Cab for Cutie "love of mine, someday you will die, and i'll be close behind"
i was going to put join me in death by HIM but i figured that my relatives wouldn't appreciate that.
Alice Cooper - Poisin
Van Halen - Jump
and the thirth I do not know
Hahahaha nice Topic... Do you know what song would i like???
"Green Day - Ha ha You're Dead"
Do you wanna the lyrics?? Here it's
Song: Ha ha you're dead - Band: Green Day - Album: Shenanigans - Year: 2002
How do you get your sleep at night?
How did you get your noose so tight?
Like chewin' on tinfoil, that's so much fun
Gonna be dead before you're gone
There's other things that are comin'
And I'll be happy so I won't return
And I'll be sure that you're goin' down
And I'll be laughin', I'll be laughin'
How many feelings can you steal?
Gotta be part of your appeal
I can see through you, cause you're wearin' thin
Like chewin' on tinfoil once again
There's other things that are comin'
And I'll be happy so I won't pretend
And I'll be sure that you're goin' down
And I'll be laughin'
Ha ha you're dead
And I'm so happy
You woke a memory
Of your damn lies
When you're shitfaced goin' down
I'll go out and break the town
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha ha...
Ha ha you're dead
And I'm so happy
An open memory
Of your damn lies
When you're shitfaced goin' down
I'll go out and break the town
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
The joke is over
You were an ******
And now you're gone
As you're shitfaced goin' down
I'll stand by and watch you drown
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead, you're gonna be dead
Just remember what I said
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Ha ha you're dead
Yeah....!! I don't wanna sad songs...
I think it would be hellish good that they play all the songs from Dark Funeral's mini album Teach children godship satan

Don't call me at your funeral, please!
I would like people can hear these songs at my funeral:
"Always look at the bright side of life" by Eric Idle and "F***ing in heaven" by Fatboy Slim...

That's "worship", if i'm not mistaken.
Not that I really like black metal..
national anthem and best coverd by the flag also, hehe
Following would be my choices
1.November rain by Guns n roses
2.Ponnal pokattum poda(thts a old indian movie song which roughly translates to "Dont crib about what you have lost, let it go..let it go"
3.The notorious gloomy sunday. n it will be perfect if i die on a sunday like my death clock says and this song sung by my sweetheart..here goes my fav part
"Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad I know
Let them not weep let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you"
Three songs that I would want played at my funeral are...
Cloudy times by The River City Rebels.
"Cloudy times? Sex & Alchohol that's all you need!"
Fight for your life by The casualties
"Fight for your life..."
And Shed a Tear by My band, The Kreeps
"You don't want, you don't want me around here no more!'
i would like to have: det som engang var , the doomed lover and.... det som engang var
I'm Not Ok - My Chemical Romance
94 Hours - As I Lay Dying
Monsters - Matchbook Romance

My wife refuses to listen to my suggestions of songs for my funeral!
But I would prefer some or all of the following.
Learning to Fly -Pink Floyd
knocking on heavens door - Bob Dylan
I believe - Brooks & Dunn
Let it Rain - K Ryan ;D
guns 'n roses - don't cry
" " " " - november rain
metallica - master of puppets
Led Zeppelin - Since I've been loving you (live version)
Queen - Innuendo
Muse - Citizen Erased
At the moment I'd probably choose this 3 songs...
Its all very well saying you want upbeat songs etc at your funeral, thats completely cool and your choice but don't drop the gaunlet on sad songs. My best friend died at the age of 19 and being a massive U2 fan the song 'With or Without You' was played at his funeral. I can't describe how touching a moment it was but believe me there wasn't a dry eye at the ceremony, and now every time I hear that song I stop whatever I am doing and dedicate those four minutes to him.
The Rasmus - Funeral Song
Sum 41 - Hell Song
Marilyn Manson - The Death Song
Hehe... actually I know nothing about the third song...
I want them to play
"I did It my way" (Frank Sinatra)
That song is very special to me.
