French translation help please

DoctorBeaver
My friend has asked what this means...

pour quoi a la mange du mal?

Can anyone translate it for me, please?
Garnet
That's lousy French as far as I can tell, but this is what I got:

Why eat bad. -> pour quoi means "why" , "a la" is like "at the", and "du" is "of" and "mal" is bad or sick. So that's why I would think that's bad French.

Garnet - that's what I thought. It's a lyric from a song. The nearest I could get was "Why does it eat evi?l". I wondered if it may be an idiom.

I've never heard such a thing in french... where does it come from ?
lavigne165
I know from where it comes , obviously from Canada , theyre french is not the same as other countries french , it's easy Rolling Eyes
Garnet
I speak French and it's the Canadian version. The differences aren't that huge, I don't think that would make sense in anyone's book. Yah I think it must be idiom or a translation of a translation. Sorry I couldn't be of much help I didn't know you could speak French.

Horrible french, But you do write it properly.

Pour Quoi > Pourquoi means Why?

A La > At

Mange > Eat

Du > Of

Mal > Either Hurt or Bad
