As some of us know, Tim Hortons has roll up to win contests every so often and encourages many, many people to buy their coffee hoping for some sort of prize (just for the feeling that you won something). Some people however, like in this case have thrown out their cup without checking if they won or not!!! A person threw out their cup in the garbage and was picked up by a 10 year old who wanted to see (little kid thing, you don't have to understand ;p) if she had won, but couldn't open the rim. She asks another girl (12 years old) to open it for her and guess what they win? A TOYOTA RAV!!! wow! crazy! hahahaha guess what they go to the teacher asking what to do to get the car and the teacher calls their parents. When the 10 year old's parent's get there they say they will sell the car and give the other family some money. When the 12 year old's parents arrive they say that their child opened the cup and they deserve the car. They went to court to settle this matter. I heard from someone that the 10 year old won the case but didn't give the 12 year old's family any money. They said, 'they weren't going to give us any money so we will do the same'. What a funny story!

Tim Hortons is a Canadian Coffee and Donut chain opened in the 60s or something like that by Hockey Player Tim Hortons. Tim Horton is a relic of Canadian Culture (The Chain) and is famous for it's double double (Coffee) and timbits (The round donuts that look like it came from the inside of the circular donut with a hole) It's know to some as muchkins. because of Dunkin' Donuts. Horton died in the 80s so his associate which I forgot the name took over and the company was bought by Wendy's in the 90s. Horton has been making news in the past week how can you not know. First Tim Horton is having an IPO in which stirred a bit of contreversy since the Stock is under the NYSE and not TSX and the Canadians have been wondering. How much of those Tim Stocks will be for Canada. And also the Roll up Your Rim contreversy about a girl who found a coffee cup that was winner and with the help of a friend rolled it up because the first girl wasnt able to. Now the family of the second girl wants it all because the girl opened it. The other girls who found it's family wanted to give a fair percentage of it, But guess what the other wanted it all.
I'm with the family of the girl who found it. They actually said many times on TV. They arent going to spend it on themselves. They are saying it for their girls education later on. While offering a fair amount to the other family.
The other family on the other hand are greedy selfish people. They want all the money not caring who found it first. I doubt they are going to even spend a dime on their girls future but on themselves. They never said they where going to spend it on their girl. Just by saying they want it all tells a whole story.Ditto. Though, these girls sound like good material for future politicians; Pick something out of the garbage, by chance win the lottery, and then go to court over who picked it out of the garbage.

Not that suprising because I live in Australia. Our news consists mainly of the Commonwealth Games and our unsuprising medal tally in said games.

I'd have to agree with you there. I don't even think that the other family should get any of it. If the first girl found it, then she could have gotten anyone to open it. For the second girls family to claim it all is ridiculous.
If the first girl had payed for the cup, it would not even be an issue.Hearing the points mentioned here, I'm also siding with the 10 year old. Her family sounds like better people, plus its her right as she just outsourced (haha) the job of opening to the 12 year old kid.
I agree that 10 year old's family should get the prize.
Also I heard that the person who threw out the cup turned out to be a teacher and she's now claiming that it was her cup in the first place and she should get the Toyota.
How can she even prove that she tossed the cup, it could be anyone. Maybe there were even a couple TH cups in that garbage can 
Unless of course they match her fingerprints 
Don't think its gonna come to that, it's not like they've won huge jackpot anyway. Well I havent heard of any news lately, But it I think it was a male teacher and not a female as you referred. Nastik. Plus most coffee cups in the trash is from Tim anyway.
