I'm not a particularly religious person, but thank the Lord, Allah, Jahwe, or whatever you choose to call him/her/it, that Mr Kember & 2 of his colleagues are now free. (thanks to the SAS too)

I can't begin to imagine what those men must have gone through during their captivity and I am so pleased for them that they are now free.

But, at the same time, my heart is sad for the 4th man, Tom Fox, who was killed by the kidnappers. My condolences & best wishes go out to his family & friends.

I meant no disrespect to the SAS by putting that in brackets. I would never demean them; they are the best troops in the world bar none. The only reason I put that in brackets was because it was a sub-statement to what I'd previously said.

FYI - Norman Kember is a peace campaigner. He has protested openly against the war in Iraq on numerous occasions. He went to Iraq as part of an international mission (2 of his colleagues were Canadian, the other was American) to show Iraqis that not all westerners support the occupation. He was kidnapped & held hostage for, I believe, 118 days.
