SWF help please

Ok, I made a flash banner in Macromedia Flash 8, put it in an HTML doc with Dreamweaver 8, and uploaded it to frihost, but the banner isn't working.

Am i just stupid and don't realize SWF doesn't work in HTML or something?

SWF works fine embedded in HTML - that's what it's used for in 98% of cases. But you need to have the right <object> (and <embed> for non-standards-compliant browsers (that means Firefox, Netscape etc. for the first time in a long time)).

So, would need to see the page to tell...

Well, in your HTML, you have the object/embed tags linking to the file: "demonfurbykiller.swf" - but that file doesn't exist on the server (at least not in the root directory). So it won't be shown (just as if an image you embed in HTML doesn't exist).

The HTML seems right (as in, it will work, not as in, it's correct in terms of web standards), but you need to put demonfurbykiller.swf in the same folder as index.html. Smile

Wow, im an idiot. Very Happy Well, I tried storing it on the server at first, but I think my HTML was messed up, so it wasn't working and I thought it was wrong. Oh well, thanks a lot!

The website is pretty much done now, the videos might display wrong website at the end but that's the extent of the work that needs to be done.

Please, visit!
