I am buying a car for the furst time pretty soon (I am only 15), and was wondering what I should look for in a first car. I am only willing to spend about $500-$1000. If anyone knows of cars for sale, or has info on what I should look for in this price range, tell me. (For the record, I am willing to go under $500
) thanks in advance
What do you think?
Just one piece of advice for that price range: test the heck out of it before you buy.
Take it to the mechinic, do some speed runs, rev the engine as high as you dare, et cetera. If it's going to die, you want it to do so before you buy it.

So let me get this straight: you want to buy a car for under $500? Just be sure that it works man. Check the engine, breaks, exhaust, tires, electronics, gearbox; the works. If you can't afford a good car then wait a little longer and save up some money. Cheap cars with malfunctioning only will get you killed.
On second thought, I wouldn't suggest doing that unless your'e an experienced mechanic (or have access to one who would help you out).
no $500 - $1000 is what I am looking for. . . . under $500 would be unreal. . .
Try a little higher. Maybe at least $1500. That is to little. Try a car site like www.vehix.com
hello good day....
I think you should buy a car that fits your wallet...
you know what i mean...
But a car that you can afford, and be practical when buying cars...
Don't buy if you are just using it for luxury and show-up...
Be practical...all cars can run, but they eat gas differently...
Be wise....
GOD BLESS

This is a good site for finding cars with specific things near you. www.cars.com
That is a hard site to remember
It seems like a decent place. so did you find a car yet?
Well what kinda good car you could buy for $500 - $1000 range ? I mean something which runs. Normally when you buy a low priced car you ll have to spend at least another $1000 to repairs services and that and this. Has anyone ever bought a good car for that price ? anyway Im not very good with Auto prices and quality .
my first car cost 250 through a coworker of my dad's. my second car was free, same way. both were chevy luminas with the 3.1L engine. the first one we got with about 164ooo miles on it, and brought it up to around 200ooo miles, was running good and strong when i sold it and got the second one, which had 180ooo miles. i only had it a short time before a petroleum product got in the brakes system, and i didn't want to spend the money on replacing the abs (which was a part of the master cylinder). the moral? you can get a good car cheap that will last a long time. try to find an early to mid 90's chevy/pontiac/buick/olds with the 3.1L, they're great cars. they can even pull out 35mpg on the highway. just be sure that it's been thoroghly checked out before hand, and try to get it through someone you know rather than a random person online. usually you'll get a better price that way.
Sorry I havent replied in a while. Yes I am still looking for a car. I have been lazy with school and all, and havent looked very much. Thanks for all the advice though!
