One more fan here. the only game i play is CS. i have removed it from my machine though, cos it was very time consuming and i needed the time to work...

I dont use xfire anymore, I just start up steam and play I cant be bothered statring up xfire anymore i'm gonna uninstall it. So no I havent just played for one hour.

Oh yeah!.. I was addicted to it ever since the beta was released!.. It's really fun getting to play with hot girls firing and shooting at you!.. lolz.. Uhm.. I used to play for about 12 to 14 hours when the game was in its hype long time ago..

yeah, its not bad..
I played CS from 1.0 trough 1.3 in lan houses, this time was the best, everyone were newbies and the fun was great.

You can still have great times playing with "professionals". I remember playing with the national champs (Portugal) and getting my ass kicked from here to Mars, and STILL i had loads of fun playing with them. Mainly because we already knew each others and were all about the same age (22 to 30).
It's just a matter of choosing your players right

P.S. - the team play stress depends a lot on your team.. if you go at it for the fun, you never get stressed playing CS.
A lot of people take cs to seriously I like to have fun while playing, changeing weapon a lot eg m3, p90 and mp5, I knife a lot more now even if I die trying to it's part of the fun.

I play CS: Source and CS 1.6.... I will give COndition Zero a try soon. They all seem really good!
it is one hell of a fun and addicting game except for when you get a hacker in your server which makes everyone leave which kills the game
So far I just play the mod of some freeware game (the name is the tip of my tongue... Return to Castle Wolfenstein?) and it has a great Team Fortress mod to it.

All that with the gravity lowers the object gravity so when I hit a bot it kind of just 'floats' there after it's dead so the bodies can look like their standing. Or if I shoot it again, it slides to the edge of the map.
And oh yes, the physics are absolutely amazing, the Source engine has the best ragdoll physics I have ever seen. (I know it runs off the Havok engine, but they modded it some-how, and it is amazing).

Same here.
Counter-Strike is so addictive, time flies while you play it.
And trying to stay in the top 10 makes the game even more addicting.
Also all the mods out there adds the fun when you are having a bad day ( more deaths then kills
)
I am currently playing 1.6 but I am planning on getting source.
What is the biggest change in Source?
And to enjoy the game you need to play online. PLaying with bots get really boring...

I stopped with the HL1 cs after 1.5, 1.6 gayed it up pretty much.
Source is nice ^^
But still no match for 1.5 or even 1.6
I like this game, but god am I terrible at it. I have been playing it on and off for a about a year now, but I am barely getting any better. I only play it like two or three times a week and only like two hours at a time. I don't have the time to devote to it in order to get good enough.
When I get a new computer and a new video card I want to get CS: Source. Then maybe over the summer I will have enough time to learn how to play as good as some other people.
Mostly though I am a Madden guy, so I spend most of my gaming time on that.

What was with 1.5 that made 1.6 bad? (or vise versa)
I played since 1.0 then stopped for a few years.. and started again just a few months ago.
I am playing 1.6 but I havent played 1.5 and I don't know what are the differences.
Can anyone tell me what is different?

I have never played 1.6, but I know the CSSource. This is the same CS with new graphics. The levels, etc. are the same as in original CS, but I like traditional Counter-Strike more than CSS.
I played it once 6 years ago...And I'm still playing this game
