It seems like that the legendary Onslaught has been raised from hell, following news spot has been found at Roadrunner Records homesite:

Reformed classic British thrash outfit ONSLAUGHT will enter the studio the first week of July to begin recording their new album, "Killing Peace", tentatively due in September via an as-yet-undetermined label. The band's current lineup includes Sy Keeler (vocals), Nige Rockett (guitars), Steve Grice (drums), James Hinder (bass) and the group's latest addition, guitarist Alan Jordan (ex-MIRROR MIRROR, FRANKENSTEIN).

ONSLAUGHT recorded three albums in the late 1980s — including the underrated "In Search of Sanity" (1989, Polydor), featuring ex-GRIM REAPER frontman Steve Grimmett — before calling it a day.

As previously reported, ONSLAUGHT have been confirmed for the Brutal Assault festival, set to take place August 1012 at Svojsice U Prelouce (100 km east of Prague) in the Czech Republic. Also scheduled to appear are AMORPHIS, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, DIMMU BORGIR, GOREFEST, MAYHEM and SICK OF IT ALL, among others.

I'm one of those who is looking foreward to hear this upcomming.

Anyone see the big metal show coming through the US and canada? "Unholy Alliance tour"? Its going to be freaking bad ass. We have Slayer leading with Lamb of God, Mastodon, Children of Bodom, and I think there is one more band I dont know about. Anyway, it will be seriously great. Anyone going?

Stuff like Metallica's thrash days were awesome. And Justice for All is still one of my favorite albums of all time, even though I don't listen to much Metallica these days.

Love Megadeth. So many countless great albums even into the late 90's. Cryptic Writings, Youthanasia, and Countdown are just examples of how the 90's didn't kill their style.

Not so much of a fan of Slayer, and I haven't given their new album listen yet. I've had it for months, but from what I've heard from Slayer in the past few years (God Hates Us All, blech), I don't expect much of it.

And Anthrax... Have never heard a single song from them, so I can't really judge them.

Well, that's my take on the big 4. Razz

I voted kreator because i listen a lot to it at the moment. An their sound is very agressive compared to some of the other bands.

After a longer times break, both cause of Computer problems and then that I've been working hard to redesign my girlfriend, Rosanova, 's homepage, do I hereby claim that I've been awaked from the death.. Smile

There has been too many new topics that had discussed the same topic, with quality that has been wasted on spreading over too many forums, so I hope that there would be more who would like to spice this topic up.. Smile

I did went into Testatemt's home site, and did found out that they had signed up with Nuclear Blast Records, and then more important that they are working on their long time awaiting next studio album "writing rehearsals".

I hope that there would be others who could add surch of exciting news here.

I don't know if there is any who has noticed that Megadeth is back, and I really do mean BACK!

Good old Dave is back with that he's best with, doing brilliant good old school Thrash Metal, like what he did at the old days with Peace sells.... and So far so good....

Who actually cares about Metallica's vimp sh*t, they are actually there where Iron Maiden where when Metallica took the record... But Dave stayed at the underground possision, and don't forget what that was the reason too why he did left Capitol Records.

I've only one thing to say about that.... Go buy "United Abominations", you wouldn't regret that.

First of all, thanks to mOrpheuS for helping quoting text as I had then trouble to find out how to do, but now I know.

An forgotten thrash metal band is Annihilator, OK! I agree that it's long time since that they made an thrash album, but Alice in Hell is still one of my favorites.

Today is Annihilator what I would call for one-o-one classic heavy metal band like Metallica is today. Sad but true, my oppinion is still murder at once allways a murder. You can't run from your roots, and it's what bands like Slayer has realized.

Well, there's honestly a tie between Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Those four pioneered thrash metal, so none of them is above the other...and nobody besides those four can even be considered for the title of best thrash metal band. Metallica kinda dropped off a bit, but they still put out good music (Mustane was a huge part of Metallica...wonder if they're sorry they kicked him out). Slayer has been playing for 30 years and never ceases to fill up an entire stadium..still kickin hard and, at the moment, they are the kings of thrash metal. Anthrax and Megadeth are both amazing, although they don't appeal to me as much.

The greatest thing about Metallica is just that, that they make alot of different music. When Im in the mood for thrash, I listen to the first three albums (especially 'Ride the Lightning'), when Im in a mood for something else... well, it depends, but I equally like all the other albums except 'St. Anger', and maybe both 'Load' and 'Reload' are lower on my list (although I love some tracks like 'Low Mans Lyrics', 'Until it Sleeps' or 'The Unforgiven II').

Thats the reason why I cant stomache stuff like Iron Maiden.. so many years, and its basicly the same stuff over and over again, but lets say thats just me.

I wouldn't get me into an discussion about opinions regarding Metallica in this forum topic, as I would think that it's belongs to a topic regarding Metallica, and then keeps this topic clear for that.

I have an great Thrash Metal Collection, where also a part of Metallica belongs into, and the brilliant with Thrash Metal is that it's hard to place who is best or not, but it's true that it's the old school who has made the sound, and here would I like to say no one mentioned, no one forgotten...

But let us hail that Thrash Metal is back, and just enjoy all that fine music at high volume when pollution of Techno etc. is on the air... Smile

Artillery a Danish Thrash Metal band formed in 1982 and had their 25 years anniversary last year, is now active on the road again. And for tour dates check their site on;

Here can you also find details on their upcoming live DVD recorded at MetalMania Festival in Katowice in Poland.

Rumours also says that they also planning to do a studio album in the near future.

...And for them who never had heard about Artillery, can you also download samples and ever two full length demos from their site too.

By the way go see them live too, it's really worth. I was there in the 80' in a double concert together with Destruction.
