input - one line solution (basic)?

Josso
I'm having some problems with text input in my program currently. It's like you'll type "This damn program"... and at my type speed it will be like "Ths dm prgrm". At first I thought it was a FPS problem but I changed it up to a good rate and it didn't make a difference. I was suggested a very big solution like 10-15 lines that meant re-designing the entire thing (about 2000 lines) and also DarkBASIC does not support multi-line replacing. Is there a solution like one line or maybe two, I don't mine copy and pasting all the sub-routines slightly different... but 10-15 lines is way too much. I am just using the standard default input command as:

input ">";subroutine$
