just thought i would share this interesting bit of news. Sony is develpoing a new Playstation that will have a processor slower only than 50 Supercomputers of this world! Some power to the gamers huh! Bring it on I say... Helios
And you probably won't care about your money when you'll buy it, right? my dear gamer?

Its not supposed to be much more than when the ps2 when it realsed.
Also don't believe what sony and microsoft says cause they rarely ever are as good or do what they say.Not even Nintendo is really relible on what they say. Scott
That much computing power just isn't needed for gaming, in my opinion. It could be used for greater good. And I'm a big gamer too.

first the CPU u mean is the Cell processor
second the CPU is fast (1+ gigaflop) but its only fast in floating point operations, to use it in a normal dekstop is stupid, because for the money there are faster CPU's available (note exept on floating point operations) third they've put it in their ps3 fourth this is old news OnlyOneLife
I think everyone knows about the PS3, I think most PS2 Gamers will get the PS3, while Xbox Fans will get the XBox 360. Which includes Triple 3.2GhZ Processors working side by side.

Yeah I dunno about that Sony needs to do something or they are gonna lose alot of costumers I mean they will always be around but Xbox will begin to take sony over just like sony took nintendo and nintendo took Sega over.... personally I start to think more and more about switching to XboX except madden is better on PS2 I think

Nintendo didn't take over Sega...Sony did.And there is no way the Xbox will be taking over sony.The reason why is cause the Xbox's biggest fan base is newer "american" gamers.While Nintendo has old school gamers.And sony has both worlds...sorta.Xbox also has very few games outside of sports and FPS's and like no RPG's(cept KOTOR and Morrowind which can both be found on the PC)and having no exclusive RPG's hurts Microsoft big in both here and really in Japan.While Sony has alot of RPG's.Eventually Xbox may die just cause they can't appeal to all gamers while on the other hand Nintendo and Sony can(tho Nintendo really lacks in the third party area)
And BTW Sony hasn't taken over Nintendo...because really nintendo is selling the strongest in both console(i think they still r at least)and handheld.Plus any one who is a old-school gamer probably won't get any other game system then a nintendo one(and they ecpecially won't get a Xbox) gamego
I think PC games are much better than console games.Atleast I can play games and download files at the same time.

I agree, there is no need for gaming devices to have that much computing power. It's going to be very expensive, somewhere near $500 a pop. And games aren't going to get cheaper people. Just more expensive. Besides Nintendo is comming out with the best next-gen console anyways.

actually games won't get much more expensive(if they do at all)because DVD's are still cheap to make and probably won't get higher than $60(cause they aren't cartridges that cost a lot to make)also the PS3 is not going to be even close to $500,the console in Japan is about 39,000 yen which is about $350 and usally consoles go down in price when they come here.

Yea, but how much did N64 cost when it first came out?, how much did super Nintendo cost when it came out. game consoles have accessories that come with it, which will jack up the price. Also got to pay for controllers and the game itself, Also got to get an HD TV with 5.1 Surround sound to really get the full "reality" gaming experience. How much does GB SP Cost compared to PSP? Going Sony Style is expensive compared to other companies, that's a fact.

a nintendo console has never been more than 200 dollars,and the PSP is more because it plays UMD movies and MP3's and is faster than a playstation while an SP can barely clone SNES GFX,and all those other things aren't needed to play a game there are extras and aren't needed(like extra controllers cause almost all consoles come with one already).And if you want to compare prices on all the handhelds the N-Gage costs(or did)the most and did the least.

I am the type of person who till test befor I buy anything I didnt care for the xbox when it came out till halo then I became adicted. And the ps2 I hated it till grand turismo 4 came out. I will probably be one of the few people who accualy hold back on running out and buying something. Like the new ps2's the little flat pos that burn up because of the no fan issues. But thats ok they still look ugly. the xbox is just bulky and cant change much. Ill end up buying both the new xbox and the new ps3 but the psp ill never buy. I find that just totaly pointless its so small and id break it in about 2 minutes. A friend of mine bought one and had it 2 weeks and the screen burnt out of it and it was going to cost him 300 dollars to get everything fixed. so he said take it and shove it got his 250 bucks back and went out and bought a game cube lmao for 100 bucks haha game cubelmao best game is mario golf ...

Sony never took over sega, sega pulled out and made the good choice, belive me when sega brinf there next console out you'll all be running to it, DREAMCAST - nothing like that in 98, no console like it was first to have internet and the bext gfx, just wait for the next big thing from sega once they plan what to do next.
