how to create an operating system?

is this possible to make an operating system in visual basic6.0 language and if yes than is there any institute who can teach Visual Basic6.0 in depth.
please tell me a name of good book that can help me in making good knowledge in Visual Basic.

Hi,
programming an operating system in Visual Basic would, to my knowledge, be impossible. This because Visual basic is a language for writing applications to run under the Windows operating systems. In order to program an operating system you should probably acquire some knowledge of assembler and C and C++.

Maybe looking into the development of Linux could prove useful to you. This because Linux was written from scratch, is well documented and is open source, which will make every part of its source-code viewable by you.

If you still want to learn Visual Basic, there are, as far as I know, several books on the subject. A search on amazon.com will surelz produce a few.
