Inside.

You can upload it in every directory in the public_html directory. It will then work in that directory and its subdirectories.

i want to direct all non-www traffic to www.

so i made a .htaccess file using notepad and put the following code in it
Code:

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^searchengineoptimizationtips.be [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.searchengineoptimizationtips.be/$1 [L,R=301]

then, i uploaded that file in /domains/searchengineoptimizationtips.be/public_html directory. but it was not working so i just removed the file.
Bondings
I put it in your public_html directory (slightly changed to my own format) and it seems to work now.
