If you want to learn html that you can practice in notepad then do a search on google for something like HTML basics.
There are a lot of sites out there that can demonstrate to you how to make a basic page. For more advanced sites I would consider looking into a WYSIWG editor. The program that I first started on and still use on occasions was NetObjects Fusion, which is available from netobjects.com

Start form idea of what you want to see on your web page. Its always easier to learn when you want to do something, but do not know how. Put just simple text in index.html, put on the server and open your website. You will find out that your text is unformated and also all the text in one line. Then take a look at some tutorial or help file and find how to start new line. After maybe you will need to make bolder page title or change text color ... just do everything step by step. Read manuals, tutorials, analyze other websites html source.
WYSIWYG editor is good, but you will not get good looking website without at least basic knowledge of html
By the way prepkid who is hosting the domain for you.?
I am using Nvu to publish to frihost.
For some reason I cant get what i publish to load into the public.html file for view outside of the admin page. I followed Nvu's tutorial and used the things listed in my account email but evrything ends up not veiwable external to the admin page.
Any suggestions?
