I prefer Notepad++
You?
html beauty 2004 - a great aditor. notepad++ is cool also.
You should try CoffeeCup HTML editor 2005 (or even newer versions)
- A great editor
http://www.coffeecup.com
Notepad++ is awesome. Great for any sort of scripting. I love it.
HTML Builder XP most of the time. HTML Beauty is good, and I've got that too (as well as some others); but I've just got used to the way Builder XP works.
note pad for the basic stuff, but i use front page in order to experiment with how the design looks, it works nice for that type of stuff.
I use Bluefish editor. And not only for HTML, also for PHP, CSS, C, Pascal, Java, and many more. I like it.
I use notepad on occassions but I'm more comfortable with Dreamweaver *shrugs
I use notepad... Whats Notepad++? Is it just notepad or some special version of notepad made specifically for programming? Sorry for the curiosity, just gotta know
Notepad++ is just a name. It's a full html editor, the only similarity to normal notepad is that you can use it to edit text files.
I use jEdit
You can download notepad++
here
I use EditPlus. It works fine, and I like the syntax and so. It has what you need, it's just that simple
I could be open to change if I find a better one...
I use context for HTML its realy great
well then, if thats what notepad++ is, I am stickin with plain old Notepad, Thanks 4 the Info
i use notepad for corrections of codes but im more in dreamweaver...bradbury top style for css editor
I use PHP Designer 2005 for all of my website work.
It colour codes HTML tags, CSS stuff and other languages such as: Javascript XML C# JAVA VB Pearl SQL and of corse PHP
It also has an inbulit preview, FTP access, and you can change the colour scheme

Macromedia Dreamweaver is my main creater. I use notepad, frontpage, and other programs like that to fix/edit smaller things
I like notepad++ a lot. Pretty simple but has everything I need
I used to use notepad...then i realized it sucked...now i use EditPadLite...it rulez!
I do most of my webdev under fedora linux
and IMHO the best editor ever is kdevelop
i'll second EditPadLite
i use it for windows
smultron for mac
I use PHP Designer 2006, and as said before it also has colouring for CSS, Javascript and PHP. The last time I used it however, I had to de-install it and re-install PHP Designer 2005, because there was a major bug in it, the files were corrupted sometimes.
I use dreamweaver great for laying things out and coding but to really learn html as i did use notepad
I use dreamweaver over frontpage as dreamweaver does alot more and is set out in a nicer more user friendly way.
I find 1st page is the best www.eversoft.com
I think Emeditor and FCKeditor(do things online) are the best
I use a combination of Homesite 5.5+ for making the basic pages and site structure, and UltraEdit for fast edits. UltraEdit is cool because it has color coding for practically all text based langauges (can have up to 30 differant syntax files, and edit the color codes for each individual langauge), and it is also a full featured Hexidecimal Editor. It will open literally any file you tell it to...the file may not be human editable, but it will open it anyway
Notepad is so far the best tool available lol but i use crimson editor for php coding as it shows the line numbers. notepad is too much of a pain when coding in php.
frontpage and dreamweaver is another alternative when i have problems or drawing tables.... saves me a line of typing or two
I use EditPad Pro.
It's not very expensive (like 40-50 USD if I remember correctly), and useful in many situations.
Syntax highlighting, call external tools, totally customizable... what can we want more ?
Actually, I use EditPad Pro to edit the following files: .html .php .tex .txt .js .c and sometimes .java.

You can do that all for free with jEdit.
Support for 136 different syntax highlightings, also, how do you call that: highlighting the other bracket in a pair, just about everything and never crashes.

yeah i do
Hi There,
I might had mentioned under some other topics, but I've been using html-kit for several of years now, and it still seems like that it's worthy to use as for the first cause of it's build in tidy. I can recommand others to try it, and I might think that you never want to changes it again..

I tried html-kit awhile ago and (if memory serves me) I found it very nice, especially all the addons that were available for it, but I'm just a creature of habit and I already bought the editor I'm going to use for sometime to come.
Zend has to be the best system I have used, took a little getting used to but its ability to bug test all my scripts are excellent
I just edit it in DA or on my FTP. Both are good. I have done it in notepad too DA just makes it easier. You can preivew it and all. So you don't have to copy past re-copy and past find a mistake and repeat the proccess again. So just doing it in DA is simple.

I tried jedit before buying EditPad Pro. The soft is good, and works nicely, but has a poor integration in a Windows system.
I thing, that VIM is the best. I use it for editing everithing, not only web content like PHP, CSS, HTML, javascript. When I want to edit C code, or asm, everithing is ok.
It has all features that I want: color syntax, ctrl+space aid and many more. For windows users, there is the friendlier version gvim with cream
BBedit 8. The best for Mac os X.
I never did any html scripting on windows.
Well it depends on my mood. I use Dreamweaver for my class, Notepad & Dreamweaver at home, and Quanta Plus when I'm on my laptop (running FC4). Dreamweaver and Quanta are nice because they color code the html, php, java, but notepad is easy to load and fast to load when I only have a minor change, or I'm starting the page.
Notepad++ also has syntax highlighting...
i use dreamweaver for everything, basically i as a graphical ide.
its just an awesome program imo.
I use Macromedia Homesite when I code. For quick editing, I use Notepad2 with syntax highligtning, line numbers, brace matching etc... Probably something similar to Notepad++
I'm a hardcore believe in handcoding... x.x
I use Notepad and Wordpad... the ones that come with Windows.
I use Blue Fish. Life's too short to just hack out code on a plain old note pad when you can have commonly used tools right there at your finger tips.
I have dreamweaver 8 full, but i still use wordpad sometimes... I'm a bit stupid doing that.
Oh also i use photoshop 7 full for my graphics.
I used FrontPage Express. but its not very gooood..
now i use STYLE NOTE. it have a lot of functions. looks nice
and FREE
link here
Trya real html editor...motepad, coffecup. or even Dreamweaver....they wll show you the best.
Notepad++ too, life is so simple in html

I use a proggy called Araneae. http://www.ornj.net/araneae/

Try UtraEdit ,let the source spek for itself.
I use and like Dreamweaver because 1) It has the function to auto-upload on save. I have a bad habit of forgetting otherwise and 2) It has all those handy auto complete things. I like that when I'm doing PHP because I don't have to memorize every single part of the function.

Isn't memorizing the source part of the fun??
I use frontpage and dreamweaver. i cant decide which one to choose. |Frontpage is good but its html is sloppy. dreamweaver is good if you can aford it. I would reccomend both

err...watch your end source from Frontpage....it is more than just "sloppy"

I prefer Textpad or Notepad, though FrontPage is sometimes useful because of its 'Preview' tab.
I'm very like use editplus and dreamweaver,so strong tools for web!
I like vim.
currently looking for a html plugins, though.
Personally....I prefer UltraEdit....a simple text editor.
