Look, we all know it's better to be lucky than good, especially if you're a struggling musician. In New York, the live music scene is so crowded that it's hard for anyone to really distinguish themselves.
So, I want to hear about your favorite struggling musician/genius who should get a record contract already.
I'm telling everyone about mine: John-Flor Sisante. I think he's folk-sy with a good pop sensibility, but my iPod tells me that his genre is "Blues" and "Other". I never argue with my iPod.
Also, give a link for your musician so the rest of us can hear how good they are. I'm giving John-Flor's:
http://www.myspace.com/johnflor - Listen to "Natalie", that song rocks
http://www.johnflormusic.com/home/ - his old site, don't think it's maintained anymore.
So let's hear it, people!
