Office 2007 Beta Refresh

According tonews.com who sourced a Microsoft spokesperson, Microsoft is planning to release an updated beta version of the companies next generation Office suite, Office 2007.

The update will ship to 10,000 beta participants in the private Beta Place testing zone next week. It's expected that the refresh will sport more UI enhancements and much more stability than the previous Beta 1 release last year. Microsoft is expected to release Office 2007 Beta 2 in Spring with a full retail release expected before year end.

Update: Microsoft have updated the Office 2007 site with what looks like new UI screenshots. To be perfectly honest Office 2007 with this new look UI is ugly to say the least. Maybe it will grow on us like Luna did back with Whistler (Windows XP).

err...Microsoft Beta Testers? Isn't that the same thing as "End User"??

It has been my sad experience when dealing with new M$ software that it is extremely buggy and M$ uses the end user as a beta tester while at the same time selling them the [Beta] product under the guise of "Final Release". From thier viewpoint it is a great profit strategy, sell the beta to the public and then respond to the bug reports/complaints by issueing a "Security Update" for the product. If this is the case then the software mentioned in that article is not exactly Beta, but more than likely an Alpha release....either way I wouldn't use it for awhile. Let them [M$] smooth out some of the kinks first.

I don't know bout u guys Office 2003 seems as if they were still busy with it when it was released.
