Help with dedicated server

seanooi
I've just got a dedicated server with FreeBSD installed on it.

I think I've suffessfully installed apache, but I still can't seem to get MySQL and PHP to work.
I already downloaded MySQL4.0.26 and have already extracted it.

I tried doing ./configure and this shows up
Quote:

NOTE: This is a MySQL binary distribution. It's ready to run, you don't
need to configure it!

To help you a bit, I am now going to create the needed MySQL databases
and start the MySQL server for you. If you run into any trouble, please
consult the MySQL manual, that you can find in the Docs directory.

/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libz.so.2" not found, required by "my_print_defaults"
Neither host 'newinst' nor 'localhost' could not be looked up with
./bin/resolveip
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname.
If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script with
the --force option

Can anyone explain to me how do I install MySQL and PHP?

Thanks in advance

mysql will work if you add the 'localhost' hostname, once you added that hostname into your server configuration MySQL will work fine.
