The meaning of life is simply too much for one life to handle, if we could link brain power and ideas together with eachother on one channel we may just discover it
Meaning of life?
Don't search for it - LIVE IT!
You will find out at the end if it was worth it.
To learn all about life and live it to the full.
What I entered in the contest was:
To challenge ourselves to overcome our weaknesses and achieve our greatest desires so that we can be the best that we can be.
I rekon that we was neva meant to be here really. we was just a bit of crap that grew into a monkey or summint then evolved into wat we call a human.
the meaning of life is to be loved and to love others..
Meaning of life Is likes the person which I the person and I loves passing the entire life together.
your all wrong, the only reason you are alive is to reproduce and pass on your genes. =)

Ditto, The answer to life the universe and everything is... 42.
The meaning of life is to reproduce and to to try to leave as much information about the world to pass on to the next generation of humanity, and to continue the cycle until even after humanity has gone extinct. That way, we can leave or information about our history to the next generation of sentient beings.
Deep, no? To be truthful, I just told you a simplified version of the message at the end of Metal Gear Solid 2. It is very truthful, though.

42 is not the meaning of life, it is the Answer to life, the universe, and everything...the wording of the question matters alot. Because the question is not "What is the meaning of life?" the question is THE QUESTION for 42 atleast... -.- read the book next time, it's worth it.
The meaning of life is what you make it. Everyone has their own meaning and purpose, and only they can truly figure out or create what that will be.
Um, I'm pretty sure the meaning of life is 42.

i agree with ya
the meaning of live is to find out what the meaning of live is
As vehicles of the Divine Will we must have a purpose, at least most of humanity believes so.
As vehicles of the Divine Will LIFE is the media in which The Divine Will is able to experience.
As The Divine Will is All Encompassing then LIFE must be the media in which The Divine Will is able to experience all that is to be experienced.
That is what i believe to be the meaning of life: To Experience All That There Is To Experience.
To Be? or Not To Be? ... It does not matter for in the END we will have experienced both and realized that.....
I AM
The purpose of all living organisms is to survive and reproduce. But if you move the human life, then it's not so easy to explain. To me, it's a matter of overcoming obstacles, challenging yourself, ejoying the ups and downs, and just holding on for the ride. Ultimately, you want to live your life the best you can live.
And then you shouldn't take life too seriously..
All work and no play...
Dont' forget to enjoy life, have fun and play around, tell jokes, be light-humoured, that's the spirit in life...
Christianity is all about joy, love and God, not just objectives.
There is no meaning of life.
Or do I have to say: there is no universal meaning of life.
As you can see in this topic: one says it's about love, another one says we are only here to reproduce (Is that actually a meaning of life?), yet another one says we just have to enjoy life and live it.
Probably you are all right.
When I hear this question, I consider it as a question that needs a "universal" answer. Most of the replies just mention what YOU see as the meaning of life.
But what about the REAL meaning of life?
Why are we really here?
Are we here because we are all part of something bigger? Is this life a preparation for another life that's yet to come?
Are we all working towards some goal, without knowing?
The question of the meaning of life is always in relation with: how do we come here? Why did we evolve to the humans we are now? (If you believe in Darwin's theory of course, because I read only 51% of the Americans believes that theory so the other 49% is convinced that we've been put here in this state by some god or by some aliens...)
I have not been informed by any creature on what's the meaning of life, nor have I come up with a scientific theory that shows us the meaning of life, so for me personally there is no meaning of life.
Don't worry, that's no drama. Just enjoy it.
Maybe we are asking the wrong questions.
Or maybe we are just too stupid to find answers on some questions.
If you want proof on how stupid we really are, try to understand the infinity of the universe...
Here is my understanding of the meaning of life:
Life
LIFE-
O what is life?
Is it a vanishing panorama
Woven by the threads of different coloured light
That no one has been able
To feel fully?
Or is it a tree
Laden with young leaves of memories
Being moved softly by cool breeze
And bathed in the dusk light?
Sometimes I feel it is like
Getting into one's shoes
With half feet in and half out
And then running a race.
Other times I think it is finding out
A comprehensible voice
An understanding heart
From among the chaos
Of confusion and din.
My dear friend
What do you think life is?
The big problem with finding an answer to the meaning of life is that nobody seems to agree upon what the question means. I think most people seem to think that question being asked is something like: What is going to happen to me after I die? Do we go to heaven or hell; do we get rebooted into a new and different life (and incidentally, what would that matter if we can't even remember that we were somebody different to begin with?); or do we just go to sleep and are spun off into infinite oblivion? Hence you get answers that appeal to infinite love, or realizing the existential meaning of the moment or coming to terms with the "fact" that there is no meaning. Unfortunately, none of these answers is an adequate response to the question.
Strictly speaking, you can't have meaning without opposites. Up means nothing without down. Right means nothing without left, and the list goes on and on: light and dark, in and out, happy and sad, sane and insane, blah blah blah blah blah ... When one asks "What is the meaning of life?" you are assuming there is something to compare it against, let's say the meaning of death. But we have no more idea about the meaning of death than we do of the meaning of life. We do however have an idea of what we are and how we could be different if we had made different choices. I choose to try to be a happy, compassionate person because I imagine the alternative as something I don't want to be. For me the meaning of life is being this guy who, among many other choices, chooses to try and be happy and compassionate. It makes sense to me anyway.
What is the meaning of life? One can not give a specific qualitative answer except for oneself since one has to be able to imagine not only what one is as an existing entity but also what one is not. However, the bare bones of the answer; that is, the universal answer probably goes as follows:
The meaning of life is that set of cognitively specifiable features which best describes the difference between that which one is and that which one is not.
42 works too.
This looks like a very, very stupid initiative to me. I don't blame them, but in my humble opinion the meaning of life is something very personal. Everyone has his/her own goals and wants to do something else with his/her life. Making it impossible to give a good answer to this question, except this one.
The meaning of life is easy: WORLD DOMINATION!
(insert evil laughter)
life is simply a path. once you die, you can go to hell or (sometimes eventually) to heaven. so, what determines where you go? the life: constantly in life you are making desitions which have consequences. some of them will make you approach to heaven and some others, to hell. so in conclusion, the meaning of life is to try to make actions that will make you reach heaven
Live and let live.... rrrrrrrr in peace
If you are wondering what is life and what does this mean..
if you are really for the answers,
just try to forget your questions.
it is (the question) far too complex in biological and theological in nature.
we better live it as and make it as simple as it is.
BUT NOT SIMPLER.... as Einstein said.
I believe in simple living , PEACEFUL living.
Love and friendly spirit as the main motto of life.
There is none, there is no such thing as meaning, there is only how.

"Only how." Can you explain that to me please, I don't understand it.
If there's no meaning of life, why aren't you depressive? It's because of the fading away of religions that the number of suicides has increased (not only because of that.) People who believe in God can deal better with problems than people who think there's no meaning in life.
I think everyone should find out for himself, the meaning of his life.
the meaning of life is irrelevant, since when you are EXPERIENCING life, who needs the meaning.
For conventional use, the meaning of life would be to be HAPPY and HEALTHY
what is the meaning of life?
i think it's just a question we ask ourselves when we don't know what to do in our spare time. a question that motivates oneself to keep on doing what they are doing for the reason of 'just because'. to live in a world where maybe that's it, you are born, walk around for a few years, then die.
no matter what answer you give to this question it's a possibility. obviously is why this quesiton is so controversial haha. the answer could be love, to live, to reproduce, 42, or even there is no meaning to life.
i dunno, that's just what i think xD
I honestly don't think it's a question we asks ourselves because we have too much spare time. Humans probably always thought about the meaning of life, every human (most) want to have a goal in live, they want to reach Heaven, Walhallah, Nirvana, they want to finish a big project, ...
We need a meaning of life to deal with the setbacks most humans are confronted with. People who think that there's no meaning of life, are more likely to get depressive.

yea that's a good way to summerize what i wanted to say haha
I dont know anyone who agrees with me but i think the meaning of life is to destroy life.
There, i've said it. Now you can all start calling me cold hearted and evil.

but we create life also through birth. although i can see how we destroy a lot more life than we do create.
i don't think there is a good answer for the meaning of life
we're all here and no one knows why, but we all know we are supposed to be here, and we should simply make the best of it.
I agree there is no answer for such question ... For every person has his life another meaning. The important think is (just my opinion) that everyone should be able to look back on his life and be satisfied with what he have done. So this question has only meaning that everyone should do what he really think is right. So dont search for answer for this question, just every now and then look back and realize what have you done.
