Good person or religious?
When it comes down to it, what's really more important, beign a good person?
Or beleiving in God?
- This is an example, like if you are a parent and are raising your kids, would you mind if your kid was a good person but athiast, or would you prefer a your kid to be religious.
Im only saying this becuase I have noticed how many parents focus much more on religion than teaching their kids to be good people, and because of that all there is a bunch of gangsters who are religious... Ironic
Sorry if my question is difficult to understand.

Reglious = to teach a person to do good thing and not evil, and love one another.
Today one of my friend have make me thoughts of how other proclaim their religous and fate. The comment is this, there are many people are go to church or temple every sunday or whatever day they give up to go to, but after that days, they still goes out to do the same thing.
Well this is reality tickle me up because i believe that my friend make this comment because he seen religious people are not living up to their religious teaching and this image influence many non-religous believer that religous and non-religous is just an act people like to do. In reality he do not understand that in religious, there are fate, which consider good deed. It is not because i go to church beause the parent make them go, but there are something at this place that people are willing to given up time to be in. Place where they find they can repent their sin, which do not consider that this person should forget why is he/she there at the. Other factor i would like to consider is, you are religious, and remember there are one book above all, that teaching about is right and what is wrong. And if we're all take just 3 minutes to read a paragraph everyday, i believe there will be a lot of different!

I could say believe in God, but you could easily be misled into believing that sex is God and you'd go round raping everybody. At least start with the good, and people might find that God is working through good charitable people in this world.
I would like them to become good atheďsts
...that can be mean if they have to (defend themselves).

Forgive me, but how are these 2 things opposed? I get the impression that it's, in your eyes anyway, either your a "good person" or a "religious" one. I don't understand why a person can't be both. I think alot of people (if they are right or wrong remains to be seen) think of "religious people" as having a more well defined sense of morality and by proxy right and wrong, as I said, this may or may not be the case. It's been my experience that alot of what I would call religious zealots are overbearing and posess a "holier-than-thou" attitude, but this is certainly not the case of all religious people I have met. Not all people can be so easily classified or sterotyped.
I want my daughter to grow up to be a good person and believe in God.
