When You Die......
What do you expect to happen?
NOTE: You're supposed to vote what you think will happen, not what you want to happen. Keep that in mind while you decide your fate.
Myself?
Well, that would be telling.

I voted Get Reincarnated. Have have many believes include heaven of some form but over the two I prefer to get reincarnated - and not specificly into another person but maybe in some form of nature.
When I moved from cub scouts to boy scouts I ended up joining a Catholic boy scout troop. We went to a Catholic camp, and during a lecture from a priest, he asked "Is anyone here not catholic?"
I raised my hand and he promptly told me I was going to hell.
So, at a glance it seems I have been condemned by the Catholic church.
But I was baptised and raised as a Lutheran, following the idea "Saved by grace, through faith." which means as long as I believe, I get into heaven.
So which is it?
To make it even more complex, I don't practice Christianity any more. Not sure where that's getting me.
I think the best way to describe me is one of those confused pseudo-Zen white people at the moment.

Well, how would he know your fate? Surely it is not for the priest to decide. Besides, Catolicism practices an 'Exclusive' Heaven. I.E you can't get into the club unless you are catholic. Whereas, IIRC my last RE lesson, most other Christians take the view that if you lead a 'Good' life, You're in. So, if you do believe in the judgement of your life, surely it would not matter to a Lutheran whether you practiced or not? Mind you, it would gain you some extra Brownie Points

I'm kind of in that stage as you may be able to tell from my Sig
I say it's just 'lights out.'
I'll try not to be too offensive here...
I don't really see any reason why it could be anything other than, when you die, any form of consciousness comes to an abrupt end. Personally, I see no evidence of any heaven, hell etc. I used to be quite christian, reading the bible every day etc. But I came to realise that I shouldn't base such a large amount of faith in anything that people/books have told me, and to make my own descision. I thought about it for a while, and decided that we are here, by ourselves, there is no higher being. We are on the same spiritual plane as all the animals.

@junodark
Well from what I have learned in my life, the catholic church has over time added things that people "must" do to go to heaven. This is seen by other people as humans trying to be good enough to go to heaven. While other christians have the "Saved by grace, through faith." its a gift for us to accept, not to work and hope that we get.
As for you not practice Christianity anymore, that is a odd statement to me. This is because I dont think of going to church as something that I have to do, its where I go to be with other people of my faith and join in with prayer, worship and learning. In the bible there somewhere(I will look it up later and sorry if Im remmebering it wrong) that says something along the lines of, when you are Saved/accept that Jesus died for your sins and such that you accepted it. Its not something that you can revoke. (I really need to re look this up).
@nickdaegg
I have no question that when I die I will go to heaven. I know that I have been a "bad" person in my life, but thats being human. I have stayed true to my faith(with a healthy ammount of questions).
Also Personaly I dont think that some things like reincarnation make any logical sense, and am willing to debate other beliefs.
@Raffles
Just a quick question, so do you belief that everything happened by chance? or something else, Im just curious.
I don't know if I am going to end up in Heaven or Hell, but I believe it will be one of those places. I would take yor poll if that were an option, but my life isn't over yet, so I can't tell if it's been a good run or a bad one, so how would I know where I will spend eternity?
Add that as an option and I'll gladly take this poll.

My simple answer is: We'll se when we get there

So then you believe I'm going to Heaven, regardless of what I do since I have been baptised/saved? What if I don't believe in Jesus? That's a sweet deal then. It means I can do whatever I want and be free to practice any belief and I still get an eternity in Heaven. Cool.

See thats the thing, Im not sure my self, and I doubt that I will ever know, well untill I die. I know that some people believe that when you are saved, you cant be unsaved. Others want to because this because in realty we are all really sinful. Thus jesus dieing for our sins and covering for them past, present and future. We only need to put our faith in that.
But some find it really hard to believe this because they cant stand the thought that even the worlds worst person could be in heaven. This is a topic people will allways debate.
I can definitely see the sense in believing in reincarnation, as well as the idea of going to heaven. However when I go, I'm thinking that it will be the end of me, and that it would be like flicking the switch on a computer. I'm not actually sad about it, as people tend to think that should make me either very afraid of death or leave me feeling empty. It doesn't, I just feel like I should put more effort into living my life well.
When you die, you get judged by Jesus Christ. If you lived your life on earth as a disciple of Christ, loving your neighbor, then you go to Heaven. If you lived seperate from God, then it's Hell for you.

Can you please elaborate on what the Lord will judge us upon, and how he determines the norms by which we are to be judged?
If I don't agree with the idea of a perfect God coming and judging me, and I don't consciously try to meet the expectations of said God, does that mean I am going to hell?
What if I have been convinced by other people on Earth that a different god is the true way, who goes to hell in this situation? Do I go to hell? Do the people who convince me otherwise go to hell, or if they converted themselves to Christianity after converting me to a different religion, do they go to heaven? Does I get punished for being duped, or does God himself get punished for not giving me the strength and knowledge to follow the true path?
And in the end, and perhaps I should start a new forum for this: If God created us, he created evil that affects us and in the end will send us to hell if we become evil as his own rejected creations, aren't we simply an experiment for a cruel God?

no, for there to be good there has to be evil. And God gave us the choice of free will. Thus we have are able to be the people who we are, and not just his mind slaves or soemthing.
Though I personally think that I, and everyone else, will dissolve into athiestic oblivion upon death I'd like to discuss a new idea that I heard a while back on another internet forum (from one "Lunatic Goofballs", on the offchance anyone knows him) that has interested me to this day: we each are affected according to what we believe will happen to us. His explanation is this: as we die conciousness slows down, infinetly so, and our brain constructs our afterlife based on our beliefs. In short: the afterlife is a relic of a dead conciousness.
I do believe in Heaven & Hell.
I think.
I think.
