Security of this host? (and phpbb forum)

Hi everyone here.
I have some questions for you and Bondings.

My friend said that poeple can hack my forum (phpbb, host by Frihost) because they can view file config.php (incule when I change my config.php to something.php, they still can find it in common.php). When they have file config.php, they can know all about my Database and they can hack the forum.

Is it right? Question

What can I do to protect my site?

I heard about some programs can encode php file, such as: Zend Encoder, SourceGuardian, phpShield.... Can I use them? Anyone here used them? Can you tell me more about these programs?

Change the CHMOD into 444 and you'll be fine.
If it will make problems, change it to 644.

Also, if your config.php isn't were the index.php is, then place an empty index.html file beside it.

those security issues have nothing to do with the host. that is a phpBB forum security issue, and you should keep your phpBB updated to avoid such situations.

no one would bother to get into your config.php .

You CHMOD config.php to 777 only during installation. Then you CHMOD it back.

And, besides, if anyone tells you anything like, i can grab your data at so-so place, they are most prolly lying or scaring the wits out of you.

Plus, unless there is some blatant error in phpbb that I'm not aware of, he shouldn't be able to get to your database information because it is parsed by the server and isn't visible client-side.
