ainieas
And here goes: the winners - can't decide between both so giving them each 50 Frih$.

Empire and Assex

I feel out the bottom, a foreign land. In lying still I am strong in the strife;
If I fail in that they are stronger than I, And wrenching me loose, soon put me to rout.
They wish to capture what I must keep. I can master them both if my grip holds out,
If the rocks bring succor and lend support, Strength in the struggle. Ask me my name!

I'm a tournament that loves to taste blood,
Swords amd long maces are the arms that I have,
Stable-dwellers are the vehicles of my land,
The winner gets some noble prize: either the king's crown or the princess's hand;
In fact, the winner can be anyone - be it a knight or a knave;
If he loses, he goes into his grave;
So thou better proceed with caution as every participant is in a clean disguise:
Each one is covered with armours and helmets;
So what am I or who am I? TELL ME! OR YOU SHAL DIE....

Congrats to the winners. Each other contributer will get 10 Frih$ each - just for contributing.

A Cowboy rides into Town on Friday, and leaves two days later on a Friday, how can this be?

A great king is going to dead!
He calls his two sons, and he tells them that he will give all his money to the the son whose horse will go out of his castle the last. The sons run the quickest they can, why?

Erm I'm french so you MUST change the words of this riddle...
I hope you understood

Regards

Thanks for contributing guys. I'm really impressed but I'm looking for something more complicated. Six-seven lines perhaps.

The setting should preferably be kings, queens, princes, princesses and as such. Don't worry though the setting is secondary.

I think this one is easy. The anser would be something like they are not in his chastle. So they have to get over there. Am I right?
testoo
ah nice idea blaster but it isn't it! The king sais the son whose horse goes out the last. So the action of going out should not be made but they ran quickly so... (PS : The king and his sons are in the king's castle)
If you want, i can pm you the answer...

Theres a bear in its house...
he goes out and walk straight 90 miles, then turn 90 to the left,
walk straight 90 miles and then turn 90 to the left, walk straight 90 miles and then turn 90 to the left and finally walk anothers 90 miles but he can reach (find) his house!

Which is the color of the bear? and Why he could not reach his house?

EDIT 26 FEB
i forgot this:
Riddles must be of standard - refer to Sophocles' riddle in Antigone asked to Oedipus or Shakespeare's in Pericles

Lets read my old books.
testoo

Very Happy
Its alright don't worry. Glad that you contributed. But you know in a medieval setting I won't be able to talk much about bears and 90 turn, that too in poetry. Smile
But I'm really thankful you tried.

3. you put the rabbit in with the tiger.
4. the rabbit is dead.

ainieas- sorry i can't really help. When i was writing my book which was also in a somewhat medieval setting, i had a riddle... It was long, too... But I can't remember it, and if i could, well it would be a lie to say I wasn't going to use it again... If I find myself bored, I'll put some thought into a new one, though.

Can we have some more background info, so we know what kind of a riddle it has to be? (or is that irrelevant)
Blaster
