im sorry but security center is nowhere to be found..

Have you installed Windows XP Service Pack 2? If not, you're not using a firewall.

Just to verify though, the security center is in START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > SECURITY CENTER but if you're using the "classic view" on the control panel, it is under START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > WINDOWS FIREWALL.

If it's not there, you need to install SP2.

Hope this helps!

Very Happy

Embarassed Embarassed i think i havent installed it.. heheh..

Well, SP2 is a good idea. Really.

You might want to consider using a different firewall though - the Windows Firewall is "better than nothing" but the free version of Zone Alarm is much more competent and provides better protection.

Anyway, good luck getting your chosen firewall solution sorted.

True, Animal. ZoneAlarm is better/safer. But if you play online games often, like I do, it's a pretty damn anoying app. It laggs your game when you play online and stuff like that.

You "think" you installed WinXP SP2 bcnhs81???
Go check it out. Right click on My Computer> properties...and there it is...
other way = Go to Control Panel> System...got that!?

Ive got XP Service Pack 3 Smile (unofficial though) Its a cracked Service pack 2 gold edition. Many tweaks and stuff for faster loading things and booting and all that. PM me for more info. Shocked

I think windows firewall is not with service pack 2. The download is only about 100 or so mbs. After installing the xp sp2 goto:

Start >
Control Panel>
Security Center.

You should be able to customize it there.
