There's nothing new about that, in fact, it can be done with any distro right now. I forgot the name of the app (im searching now), but it's very unstable =(

Im using XGL with compiz and cgwd as my window decorator at this moment. They are awesome. although time and again there seems to be an update on the softwares. at this point, I can say that it is still unstable but XGL is already running good and so far I haven't encountered any problem.
