A leading Pakistani cleric has offered a 1.5 million rupee reward and a car to anyone who kills the cartoonist who drew Prophet Muhammad, reports say.
Mohammed Yousaf Qureshi, prayer leader at the historic Mohabat Khan mosque in Peshawar, announced he would give a 1.5 million rupee ($25,000 US) reward and a car for killing the cartoonist of the prophet pictures that appeared first in a Danish newspaper, The Associated Press reported.
"This is an unanimous decision of by all imams of Islam that whoever insults the prophet deserves to be killed and whoever will take this insulting man to his end, will get this prize," Qureshi was quoted as saying by AP. |

Why are more and more Muslims jumping on the bandwagon here? They're really making a name for themselves. It's getting to the point where many media outlets are classifying these people as Muslims and not radical Muslims.
Why have the Muslims not spoken out in protest against the radicals?
Wouldn't it be ironic if the Muslims brought world hatred on themselves over some cartoons? Because that's exactally where this is headed. I totally agree with you, here the Muslim Council hasn't really said anything about the demonstrations which is really disappointing as I had faith in them. At least since the first demonstration its quited down a bit.
The whole issue on the cartoons actually remind me of something. Around the middle of last year a play was written by a muslim woman here in the UK. It involved a woman being raped in a mosque. Their was absolute uproar, it couldn't even been shown and so was axed before the first performance. The whole theatre was completely distroyed by rioters. The police made only a couple of arrests. This is because its politically correct (or in my opionion incorrect). Nothing was done because the people were muslims and nobody wanted to be accused of being a raciest, which now-days easily done. I have lots of muslim friends and consider myself not a raciest but this kind of attitude really annoyes me. It would have been totally different if a group of yardies in hoodies did it.
my personal meaning is that they should burn!(the muslims)
here's the reason:
the danish newsletter jyllandsposten post the cartoons.
but what happens then? they burn the norwegian flag! wtf did norway have to do with this? nothing. it was that stupid jyllandsposten who printed the drawings so why do they not burn jyllandsposten instead?
i cant really understand this but one thing is certain and that is that i dont like muslims!

You are too confused. It is not all muslims, just a few. Its like saying all American's are obese, all Germans were Nazi's, all Irish were in the IRA, you can not substantiate different people apart because they are not the same as you nor everybody else, it isn't fair.

I understand why muslims are upset... but honestly, they're going the complete opposite way about it than they should be!
how can i put this mildly? this is really rubbing me the wrong way. This is not about cartoons anymore. This is about something else. These people have some serious anger towards the west and the cartoons have just become an excuse to burn sh*t and take that anger out on Danish yoghurt. Then you have idiotic clerics with nothing better to do, putting bounties on people's heads. What's next? A duel with the Pope?
You know what, I have had it with these cultural problems between countries and people and stuff. My solution: from now on just nuke them! If you don't agree with someone and you just happen to have a couple nukes downstairs - nuke them. if someone makes fun of your religion and your friend has a nuke, borrow your friend's nuke and nuke that bastard. if someone nukes you because your friend made fun of their religion, nuke them back and while you are at it, nuke your friend too for getting you nuked in the first place. Eventually there won't be any more problems! But that solution sucks if you don't have a nuke and none of your close buddies do. but that's the price one has to pay for being nukely-deficient!

I think the 'outrage' is good for business. If I could buy a copy of the cartoon as a poster I would. Think how many people are curious about the issue.. and how curiosity tends to drive up sales. If you WANT to draw attention to something bitch about it and issue death threats. This is now a MUCH MUCH bigger issue for the comedy community than ever before.

*** He's not a tool, hes a fool Clearly the cartoons were just the catalyst igniting an explosive underlying situation. Not to defend the fanatism put on display, but this is not just about some cartoons - it is just an expression of a major clash between civilizations.
The Muslims should not be going around rioting and burning flags..just because of the cartoon....it does not make sense,
they should be allowed to express freely....
