About Me: I'm a girl. I have two eyeballs. I have a sense of humor that makes its presence known every so often. I like to read, write, walk, and swim. Talking can be fun. I like to play miniature golf. I love romance. I like to camp, though I must confess to being frightened of things that go "bump" in the night. I like to sit and watch a roaring fire with friends or by myself. I like to listen to music; I am particularly fond of Josh Groban and Harry Gregson-Williams. I like to spend time with my friends and family. I like my cat and my dog, too. All that aside, my main focus would be the relevant grace of my life, hence my current user ID. I shall endeavor to share the grace and mercy of my life through the efforts of Mercy House, which is my passion! I could go on and on about Mercy House, but I'll wait for an appropriate time to do so.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, FOLKS! Contact me now and you'll receive an informative, if possibly brief, response.

As it happens, I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. Just thought I'd toss that out there... Smile
manumiglani
cool!

Welcome here girl!
~tang~
Wow. That's about this many times more interesting than any introduction I've read before. Welcome.

I share many of your interests. Especially the roaring fire. There's not much better than being huddled up in front of a roaring (indoor) fire, though I prefer to be with people you can cuddle with, rather than friends. It would be weird as a guy to cuddle with my friends not of the female persuasion...

I couldn't go past that deal on the brief, yet informative reply... that's just unbeatable Razz

Anyway, uh, see you round sometime Smile

Hi there, I'm new also. I am nice unless you make me mad, then I will go fatman on you.
relevant_grace
Manumiglani,

I am indeed a girl.

~Tang~,

Though this isn't informative, it is brief. That's half of the battle!

Arnie,

Google hearts me.

Testoo,

I've decided that I dislike cells. My website is a disaster area, but I am confident that soon enough, it will resemble something decent.

Vanquish,

I certainly intend on settling in and making new friends. Friends are neat. True story.

Shut up,

Don't leave me hangin' like that. Laughing What's this fatman business?

Welcome here, I am certainly intrigued by your introduction post and this so-called Mercy House. I dare say you will probably make a great addition to the community.

C'mon girl, let's rock this place! Very Happy Very Happy

Code of Ruin,

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm certain that this community will enrich me. I have certainly been made to feel most welcome.

Carol (Tdb18),

Lady, your english is fine! I understand your words perfectly, which is fabulous. I'm a fan of the K.I.S.S. principle, so I value simplicity more so than flowery words.

As far as rocking this place, we may do just that very thing! In fact, I'm certain of it. It should be very nice! I'm looking forward to bumping into you, as rocking is always more pleasant when one has a friend to rock with... Wink Very Happy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mercy House.

The defining concept of Mercy House is so very simple. It is help. People suffer greatly. We've all witnessed suffering in one form or another. Often, we shake our head sadly and walk on. Seldom does it hit home with us. Oh, sure, we feel compassion. Our eyes may even mist over with tears. Still, we walk on.

Well, I'm tired of walking on. It leaves me feeling distinctly lacking as a person. In my short life, I have always had a heart for those in need of help. I am unable to shut out the reality of people fighting addiction, of people walking around without direction, of people who consider taking their life, of people who have stomachs that cramp with hunger, of people who need someone to listen... This reality holds much more pain and suffering, but I believe that we're all bright boys and girls. We've all lived enough life to know what's what.

Think of it as a tapestry, being woven one thread at a time, to create a beautiful picture depicting hope and love. Idealistic? Perhaps, but I fail to see the harm in being idealistic, as opposed to cynical or apathetic.

I can see Mercy House taking shape, yet some of the lines are still slightly obscure. We're in the process of filing to obtain 501(c)(3) status. This period of waiting affords us more time to begin the process of building.

You see, I have hopes of establishing a center that will be able to offer assistance to any in need. This is not outside the realm of possibility, though the others and I fully understand that there is no 'easy button'. Depending on a possible copyright issue, it may be necessary to change the name, but even so, we will not be deterred. Our effort and passion will bear fruit.

Mercy House represents the best of you and me. It is the result of compassion and hope. It is a hand up, not a hand out. It is taking care of our own, rather than walking on. Idealistic? Perhaps, but I fail to see the harm in being idealistic, as opposed to cynical or apathetic.

I am continuously working on finding those who would offer support or help, even if it's only a prayer. If you wish to become involved or if you simply wish to know more, don't hesitate to contact me. We accept any form of help, be it a prayer, a word of encouragement, a can of corn, or a dollar bill. I'm not particular, as help is help and that's the point!
Code of Ruin
So mercy house basically is a vision of a better future. Yet I fail to see how it takes shape other than a website. The website obviously is only part of the vision. Is Mercy House a registered organisation somewhere for I could not find much but a voice without a body. Still the idea itself is good. Has your idealism beared fruit yet? There is no harm in being idealistic but is there truly any in being cynical? I hope not for that would mean I am harmful.
Good luck building your vision, it sounds like your house has a sound foundation.

Kind regards,

Code of Ruin,

You're right. Mercy House is a vision of a better future. The website is already in existence. Sadly, my 'skills' are still in the stages of development. Wink We're filing to become recognized as a non-profit organization, which is that 501(c)(3) status I mentioned.

I suppose I should tell you a bit about this M.I.A. body. We now have several members in addition to several supporters. One supporter in particular has proved to be quite a surprise. He has ten acres of land that he's willing to allow us to use as the site for the actual structure. This parcel of land is in New York. So, we have a site for our center. We also have a highly skilled carpenter among our ranks. We have dedication and a desire to see this thing through.

So, is there an actual building? No, there isn't an actual building. Will there be an actual building? Yes, there will be an actual building. Are we recognized as a non-profit organization? No, we're not recognized as a non-profit organization. Will we be recognized as a non-profit organization? Yes, we will be recognized as a non-profit organization. It takes approximately four to six months to receive 501(c)(3) status, so we have a spot of waiting to do.

Just as with anything, we've had to start from the ground up. It's coming together one piece at a time. Ten acres of land here, a foundation there, a brick or two here...

By the by, there's nothing wrong with you being cynical. I suppose you've seen and experienced enough to give you that healthy dose of cynicism. I don't believe my way is the only way to be; I just believe that it's the only way for me to be... Laughing

Wow that is the most interessant and the longest introduction post I ever see! Congratulations Sarah to speak so good english and to defend so harmly your cause (mercy house) It's a nice project which is every day coming through! I'm can't speak english really good but i understood your post and it was nice!
So congtratulations agin for Kloey who is a great addition to our community!
relevant_grace
Thanks, Alex. Your english is coming along swimmingly.

I'm afraid that I haven't devoted much time to the world wide web lately, as I act as caregiver to my Grandmother and we've been busy with various pre-ops, surgeries, and post-ops. It has been rather hectic. Fortunately, everything has gone well and we're expecting an easy recovery. I don't wish to go into detail about the particular surgeries, but suffice it to say that cancerous cells were involved.

As far as Mercy House goes, we're still up in the air about the possible need to change the name. Personally, I don't care what we're called, as long as we're able to be fully established and accredited as a 501(c)(3) organization. As it happens, we have one stubborn individual. Slowly but surely, I'm managing to iron out the wrinkles he's creating.

In any event, I should be in full swing within the next two days or so. For all those who have contacted me and haven't received a response, please, accept my apologies. I will get back with you.
