I wasn't sure wether to put this here or the coding forums but I figure folks with adsense ads will all be interested in this forum. So Here Won.
is there a way to mke the background transparent? Has anyone done this?
I don't think there is...
You cannot make adsense background transparent however you can make it collapse when the ads are not displayed. In fact, if you try to change to coding to some extend you may break their terms of service. Therefore, it is better not to mess with the adsense code.
in all reality, changing the code manually and not with the set paramiters they allow you, its against the rules of the adsense program. however, if you really need the background to be transparent, why not change the background to the background of the site you are using it is. would result in the same thing you want, unless the background is an image. Im sorry there is not much you can do with your problem but I wish you luck in finding a way.
The site's white now so I've got a white border and background just had this very nice background image I wanted to use. Oh, well back to the drawing board
in the backgroung text box(when you change ur layout in adsense site)
do not fill any thing if there is some code displayed like #fffff , just remove it.

Coulda swore i tried that already. I'll give her a go see what happens.
Well Adsence uses JavaScript.
Type in JavaScript Tutorials or something like that in Google (ironic isn't it?) and see if you can find anything on making it trasperents.
If Google can monitor JS modifications on our website, thats way to much power they have.
I hope Microsoft Openes its "AdSence" Adevertising Scheme to make Google more competitive (Yahoo's Advertising made google stronger for some weird confusing reason).
I've had a fiddle with my adsence banner, removing the google_bg_color just makes the background white.
Didn't google have some sort of Christmas Seasonal images in the background of there ads.
Well if you could find a code that incorperates images, im sure you can hotlink it to your background color.
Good Luck.

Well, of course they can monitor your JS modifications. All the Javascript used within a webpage or linked in externally is publically viewable and can be spidered the same way that Google spiders sites for its search engine. And when you sign up for Adsense, too, they tell you that they'll check your site from time to make sure you're implementing things in a manner consistent with their terms of service. There's nothing powerful about it -- every Adsense user gives them permission to do this when they agree to the user agreement.
