phpbb problem....

i have some problems with uploading avatars on phpbb forum...
it always tell me that i have some kind of script problem

this is what forum do:

Make sure the permissions on the files are set up correctly according to the CHMOD instructions in the installation information included with the files.

You need go to your ftp and chmod Avatars folder(under phpbb/image) to 777.

yws but what meand to chmode?
and what is 777?

chmod refers to the permissions a file has.
777 (0777) gives read write and execute permissions to both the owner, user and other. In short everyone can do everything to the file
