I had to contact a company one time in Japan for information,
Come to giving my email address, I gave him the first few characters fine. Then The dot.
"I'm sorry, dot?".
so I say "dot",
and he says "Dot., Dot., Em, Dot" so I say
"look at your keyboard, see 'm'? Near 'm'!"
"em....."
"no, look at your keyboard, Letter 'M'"
"I'm sorry"
"forget 'm', Do (pause) you (pause) know (pause) the symbol (pause) dot?"
"I'm sorry"
"symbol... Dot"
"Ah, dot"
So he must have got it after 5 mins, and then the @ symbol wos the same. He eventually got someone else who could speak english.
