thanks for suggesting simpleviewer. i like the flash type galleries (if done correctly). i was using photoshop cs2 galleries but downloaded simpleviewer yesterday. i changed over my galleries and will use it from now on.

what kind of album do you want? if you want to have php and Mysql involved use coppermine and if you want simple Html you should be happy with jalbum or another easy to use program like expressthumbnailcreator

Now this is something I wanted to ask about too. I went and had a look around and Coppermine does sound as if it is what I want.
I just hope others with more experience with it will be willing to share hints and help with it where needed, as it doesn't appear the easiest to use.
I would be interested to know how others have fared with it.

If you want super easy, use Photoshop. File>Automate>Web Photo Gallery
They have a lot of nice templates and all you do is tell it which photos to use. If I'm not mistaken, you can define your own gallery too.
I also use JAlbum. Very good program also.
