With all respect to the author of the initial post, you cannot simply pick out an article from some obscure web forum and cite that as proof of democratic allegations of a Bush conspiracy. Regarding the argument at hand, I don't think anyone can doubt that the US has covert operatives in Syria and other places and that the government is willing to use them to try to affect public opinion in those countries should this be in the best interest of the US. OF course, though, burnign embassies in Syria and riskinga further distabilization of the situation in the Middle East while most active US troops are bogged down in Iraq would not be in the interest of the country right now and therefore the argument made on the blog has no logical foundation.
