How can the government validate spending billions of dollars in Iraq and then dilly dally with the expenditures needed to rebuild New Orleans. I feel that supporting another overseas adventure while major funding issues face us at home is bad policy.

That's exactly what I'm paying for! Without them who would have won? Besides more of the money goes to high tech weaponry like jets and cruise missiles. By reducing the enemy to tiny particles without giving them a chance to fight back these technologies significantly reduce casualties on my side of this war, while increasing casualties on your side of the war. Republicans sell weapons, democrats sell drugs, this is how it has always been.
The cycle goes like this. First, the BARROW tons of money( as in 8 trillion dollar debt), then they spend the money on weapons or drugs.
Now, the money is in the pockets of the "suppliers". From here it goes back to the Politicians (as in we need "lobby reform")
When it comes time to PAY BACK the debt, everyone says "We don't have any money, and, of course, they are LYING)
What to do?
Answer: Print more money and loan it out through the banks. To who? Well, if the Repubs are in then they loan it to repubs, to buy weapons (see above) and if the democrats are in they use it to buy drugs.
