Heard from a friend that there is a worm out there running wild...Already crashed the school's computer labs (all of them).
Hopefully it won't affect home computers.
Thanks, what's the bug/worm called?
what kind of computer does your friend's school have? Luckily my school computer is very well protected (well, I guess a little too protected) and student have internet Citrix server account. So even one computer crash, we can always use another. And I really doubt that bug can kill all 500 + computers at a time.
o.0 I hope it doesn't get me!!
Im pretty sure its the Karma Sutra worm. I could be wrong though..
I'm running through so many firewalls and routers that no one can touch me
I'm running behind a router and I'm untouchable! ^^
Also, try installing the noscript extension for firefox so that you'll be extra protected from auto-install scripts from malicious websites
I don't get why people are always running and taking shelter from scary viruses, and then all of those newsflashes that are like "Watch out! There's a new virus coming for YOU!!". Just get yourself a security team like ZoneAlarm, Norton and CounterSpy and you'll never have to worry.
However, it's different with school/work computers. Many places just ignore security and stock up on crap like a 5-year-old version of PC-cillen, until they get a worm and have no idea what to do so they just let it fester for months.
yep Norton works for me, got it installed on both computers, not had any virus trouble.

I heard that the bug or virus was stopped. So we can all live our lives now!

Man there must be a horny guy in your school who was so tempted in your school lab to open some porno stuff, that caused the virus to crash your school computers. i think the best answer to this worm is to be less horny in school labs
Yes there was a big scare about the kama sutra worm. However, most companies and people knew about it before it really got bad. This way companies like Norton were able to write updates for virus protections. It didn't affect people anywhere near what some were expecting. It's a good thing I suppose.
I'm behind a router and two firewalls. The most I get are occaisonal spyware cookies installed, which are easily removed by Ad-Aware. I have had trojans before, but no real virus.
There's no reason why you should get any virus if you have the appropriate software and updates.
