1) IE is not physical, it can't 'crush' anything. (Except maybe another browser).
2) Check for virii.
3) Install Mozilla Firefox and use it for the default browser.

Uninstalling Internet Explorer from a Windows environment (particularly Windows 2000 and XP) is very difficult, and it can cause some serious complications with your Operating System. It is not recommended that you try to uninstall it since this would probably cause more problems than it fixes.
However, you should check your computer for viruses (like S3nd K3ys said) using your anti-virus program. If you don't have one, try AVG Free Edition. You should also run a scan for spyware (again, if you don't have a spyware scanner then you should try Ad-Aware and MS AntiSpyware)
I totally agree again with S3nd K3ys that you should consider using an alternate browser - Mozilla Firefox is my personal favourite, but Opera is pretty good too. Check the settings of the new browser you download and set it as your default browser.
I would suggest that you launch Internet Explorer, then go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS and click the button marked DELETE COOKIES. Then, click DELETE FILES and select the checkbox marked DELETE ALL OFFLINE CONTENT. Hit OK, wait a few minutes until it stops clearing your temporary internet files, then close Internet Explorer. With any luck, you'll never have to use it again!
Hope this helps!
1. You can try to delete all the files in your temporary directory, as follows
Start -> Run -> Enter %temp% -> delete everything in that folder
2. Clear IE cache, cookies, as follows,
In IE, Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files & Delete Cookies.

there is an easy way to fix internet explorer
Tools --> Windows Update
apply all updates, especially the ones for internet explorer (which is most of them)
short of that, you could post the error message and the exact weight of internet explorer when it "crushes".
Sorry, (your post mentions "crushing", and it is mostly accepted that you meant to say "crashing", but then again it could mean something like; " everytime the internet explorer fails, you pick up the computer and throw it and it "crushes" something

Try installing Mozilla Firefox 1.5 beta. MS IE sucks big time.

yeah who needs ie.. they got the new version coming out and they were so excited they put videos of their new features all over the internet. the next day firefox had a new version. you can do so much more with firefox than ie and im sure the new one and if you dont think it has enough features.. just search google for 'firefox extensions'... that'll keep you busy for days making your firefox and port 80 browing as RICH as humanly possible. i'll never go back to ie. i only use it to check my websites to make sure they'll look decent enough for those people that insist to view my pages with IE hehe. they always come out better in firefox.. amazing IE can't even translate the code as well as firefox anyways. plus they are susceptable to EVERY popup * spyware just about. anyways.. i could go on and on. i just wanted to share my absolute love for firefox since someone brought it up.

What is spy-ware?
Spy-ware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Ad-ware). It is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by selling it to the users. There are several large media companies that offer them to place banner ads in their products in exchange for a portion of the revenue from banner sales. This way, you don't have to pay for the software and the developers are still getting paid. If you find the banners annoying, there is usually an option to remove them, by paying the regular licensing fee.
If you would like more Information about "spyware".

man, as people told you before of me, just change your browser.
You have Mozilla Firefox, and if you can't see some pages well, you can download an add-on called "IE View".
That will get rid of IE weird standards.
Good luck...
*by the way if you have censoring/content filter programs, it can be the cause of the IE freezing.

l am assuming that you mean to say that your IE is CRASHING, as in every time you click a link then the browser would close and possibly give an error message.
To fix this problem please do the following:
1. Download, install, and run some anti-spyware and anti-virus software, l use Ad-Aware SE Professional and BitDefender 9 Professional, there are trials and personals for both that are free of charge, l would recomend using these, but that is just me
2. Install something besides IE, l have FireFox and Opera installed, and preafer Opera. FireFox still crashes on me frequently (l do waay to much for it to keep up, and the memory leak breaks loose eating my CPU and forcing an application faliure

STOP!!! Trying to uninstall IE is going to screw the crap out of your computer (this is assuming you are on a windows machine). Make sure you have it updated if you must use it, and perhaps deny access to it, but DO NOT try to uninstall it as most of windows likes to loop through itself making sure you have to keep all the crap if you want the OS
IE and the win OS are tightly integrated and there is no way to you can uninstall IE. The only way to repair / reinstall IE is to install the service pack . if you have WinXP , then you need to reinstall SP2.
you might now know that there are 2 components in IE. the Browser Engine and GUI. My exprience says , On your machine it would be an issue with the IE GUI that is causing the crash.
So the workaround is to use the IE Engine with a different GUI. Try to search and download a copy of Crazy Browser or net worker . these 2 use IE Engine and would work fine on your system.
I am a strong supporter of Mozilla / firefox. There are times where webpages with authentication (which written specifically for IE and run out of IIS server ) have to be accessed only by IE. these pages are not rendered correctly by mozilla engine.
- Virtualsom (
... Sys Admin by profession )

all of the above reads like excellent advice to me, however, i'd take it one step further [and indeed i do this myself]: install the free vmware player, or better still vmware server [a cut down version of gsx server] and then run the virtual browser machine, again, it's a free download from vmware. it's safe, it's sandboxed and comes up 'clean' whenever you run it. face it, your browser is the big target for any malware out there. follow the above and it'll never be a problem again. and you get to bin IE which is the slowest, clunkiest, most insecure and most backward browser ever.
YOU CAN TRY MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER...ITS MORE STABLE AND SECURE
THEN INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0.
THEN INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0.
You could always try Internet Explorer 7 beta 2. You can download it here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/ie7betaredirect.mspx
It's about 11Megs
It's about 11Megs
I agree 100%. Trash IE as it's only trouble. I do only use firefox by myselfs, but sometimes you can be forced to use IE.
Cheers and good luck!
