Problems at Battlefield 2 !!!!

Hi all I got Battlefield 2 and at the past two weeks I started Laging!!!!!!!
and it's Laging because of the CDROM!!! every time i got a lag i hear the CDROM starting to power up and start to spin,by the way i don't remember that i had it before the last update of the CDROM driver-now i know i can roleback the cdrom driver-but my question is if i can do something else without losing the new driver?

If you have bad cdrom driver, why you want to leave it on your computer.
You can also create an image of the cd and mount it as virtual, but i thing you will have serious problems with protection of the CD.
You can download some utility that disable th cdrom spindown.

No tanks,I got a legal copy-and i don't to mess it up..
I want to keep my new driver because its probably better at some other stuff..
is there any other way to disable the on and off switches in middle of programs-like a function that say's "hey,work 24/7 while playing(CDROM)"
