Just for thought...

Ok, I am sure you all have seen those hosting sites with "Unlimited" (Unmetered) bandwidth, as well as storage. So, what do you think would happen if you pulled a rapidshare service on them, that became MORE popular then rapidshare?

Take into consideration that rapidshare claims to boast over 105 TERABYTES of file storage capacity. Wouldn't your hosting company, by law, have to extend their HDD space to support your site?

Just a great thought I had thought of when seeing rapidshare and the unmetered hosts.

What do you think?

Just read the license agreement again and i am sure u will find ur answer. Ive seen a few such a hosts which offered unlimited bandwidth but yet they had other restrictions like:

1. You cant have a chat page
2. You cant have a page that offers file hosting.
3. You cant have a public gallery page.
.
.
etc.

What would you do with 105 TERABYTES?

I agree with Sappho... they'll restrict you in the fine print somehow.

But seriously, what would you do with that much space? I'm having difficulty just comprehending that much to play with... almost like, how big is the universe...?

theres no such thing as unlimeted. And i think most hosting companys that do offer unlimeted would crash as soon as it reached half a TB. most would proberly crash at a lot less than that.
