First read the article.

What do you think?

I think this is good because this vaccine will save many lives. Hopefully, people will take the doses prescribed or else the virus will become resistant to the vacine.

Ah, yes, I only recently heard of this. There is lots all over the web about governments planning to stockpile the vaccine. I think if they just give it to everyone/everything that has the possibility of infection in all the areas where there are known cases, then it won't spread as fast, if at all, and we won't HAVE to stockpile it.

Giving it to everyone and everything would cost too much... Stockpiling it is going to be much cheaper, yet it will propabbly make more people suffer.

Money>Health

(And yeah, if governments would abuse their funds they wouldn't have anything left for social costs etc.)

This should be in the world news forum. But good for them, they found something new.

Like all viruses it will eventually mutate into another strain, preventing there ever being a true "cure" for it. The best we can do is prevent the spread where possible and provide care for those affected by it.

Everything mutates, it's life.

Yeah they have already released that they are going to give it out in high priotity only. Like hospital workers and military/government personell. That sucks. It is costing them way too much to make and most of the population will not get any at all.

They are going to vaccinate these people but people can also be carriers if they are not infected. So how does that work exactly: A doctor treats a patient for the bird flu. The doctor has already been vaccinated against it so he cannot possibly get it. He gets the virus in his body, and goes to treat another patient, unrelated to the flu. The patient will now have the virus just by going to the hospital and seeing the infected doctor.

That is the most scary part of it all!

Happy vaccining to all of the affected ones

However hope that the virus doesn't become immune to it

that's a good news, but still, why virus became more and more terrible these years all around the world....

birdflu, although a potent illness, is being blown out of proportion by the bush administration out of fear of losing their core constituency. They, like in the movie Wag the Dog, are making a big deal out of nothing to divert attention away from the real problems facing the US, like the War in Iraq, the looming situation with Iran, the wiretap bullshit, Karl Rove, Jack Abramoff, North Korea and, most importantly, Michael Moore

perhaps it will be useful only for a short time.. the virus can mutate anytime and develop a resistance against the vaccine.. Wink

Wow, that's great, finally?
