phpbb installation problem

While following the phpbb installation tutorial (http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-19192.html ), At step 12, I encountered the following error:

Problem: you might have entered a wrong database name or something like that

NOTE: The database name is: "username"_"db name"
(the username is the name you login to direct admin or cpanel
db name is the name you gave to the database like, forum or
something like that)

when I first did phpbb...i didnt even create a database...

in that case, go to DirectAdmin>sql databases>create new

and use the same us/pw...

It worked. I had renamed my file "forum (phpbb2)". When I rerenamed it back to "forum" everything was fine.
