The steak in a dish is fed by providing nutrients. This can be an unlimited source of food, especially for nutritionally deprived countries.

technically speaking, we've been modifying food for hundreds of years.... its just now we're getting much better at it. As far back as 3000 B.C Indians in peru discovered that different types of potatoes grew better at 14,000 feet than at 10,000 feet,so they divided the potatoes into groups that grew better at different hieghts... we also crossbredd different plants and animals to achieve different results that we found desirable...

I see nothing wrong with it in itself. Buty i do think more attention shoult be payed to the consequences of doing it, especially in our deliecate ecosystem.
For example... you create a type of plant that resists bugs... that reduces the bug population... which reduces the bird population that fed off the bugs etc.... its a domino effect whenever we change something..

Okay, so in all honesty, I have to agree with the comment that we have modified food for some time, because we have. And really it is for the better, to give us more of it, because we are a growing planet and our food source needs to grow with us.

Genetically modified food isn't evil or anything, it is just made to get the most out of everything is all.
