ADSL Modem Router

Hello, I have a NetComm NB5Plus4 Modem Router and the other night it shorted out so we brought a new one and since i have been wondering what has shorted it out. I was wondering if it is because we just turn it straight off at the computer with it still connected to the internet and everything. I emailed my ISP and they reckon i should do Bridge where i can press a connect and disconnect button. So could that of been what shorted it out?

Not actually... There are so many factors that could have affected your ADSL Bridge/Router...

By the way, I think it would be useful to you if you'd just use the router capability of your device. That serves as a form of isolation, thus protection, from the Internet. (There are downsides of course...)

Hope that helps...

If you want to use a bridge you must consider how many IP's your ISP offers and how many computers you wish to use with your ISP.
