Sven to quit after World Cup - UK

England coach Sven Goran Eriksson will leave his job after the World Cup.

Following a sting by a tabloid newspaper reporter disguised as a fake sheikh tabloid, the FA has decided to end his contract early after a meeting with the England boss yesterday.

After what he has said about England players should he be allowed to continue and not be dismissed immediately.

Have we really got any chance of doing well in the World Cup?

Will England players have any confidence in Sven after his comments?

Yes I know the FA hasnt got anyone else but what happened to coaching two new potential England managers alongside Sven during his time at England. FA - Its a farse, sack the guy.

Reported to be getting around £5m for his unexpired contract after the World cup I think this is an outrage. Do your job Sven, even thjough you are Swedish your loyalty should be to England and you should have kept that mouth shut.

Thank god!!! He was one worst coaches we ever had on the england team. He did nothing for the team, and I certainly will not be sad to see him leave.

I don't think it's a question of if Sven was a good manager or not (i think he did OK) and he'll allways be remembered for the 5-1 thrashing of Germany.

I think the point that needs to be made is why the English press are so intent on F**king up the England team before every major competition, They really do P**s me off, one minute they are praising someone like they are a god and the next week they're slagging them off..

If England don't do well in the world cup it's not the players or Sven that should take the blame, it's the news of the world Evil or Very Mad

Only in England would the national press purposley go out to damage there teams chances at the world cup. To go out an try to ruin the national teams manager and the team is stupid and the News of the World should be sorted out.

The only good thing about this is we can plan ahead, I think whoever is going to take charge next must go with the team to the cup finals and see how it all works so they know what there up for. Rather than what normally happens where it takes 1 cup for th manager to get used to it and then the next they can try an win the cup.
