I really hope Google continues to stand up to this, It's fine if the US government wants to get our searches if there is a reason (and thus get a warrant... wire tapping anyone?) but random sampling doesn't help the US's national security.
Also it's somewhat disturbing because many people who use google.com are not US citizens which only muddies the international laws even more...
