there is no such thing as a free top-level domain name.. except .be but i believe they were giving them free untill christmas.. so the promotion might be over... anyway... domain names are very cheap... very very very cheap, so anyone can afford to buy one

Yeah anyone can afford them, they're only about $2.00 a month, or you can get deals of $10 - $15 a year (which is about what you pay for FriHost-like hosting a month).
