"The Great Physicists"....this is a popular science book but it is perhaps the best introduction to physics I have ever read. It is written by a physicist who was in the thick of the dramatic devlopments of the 20th century and although old it provides the reader with clear and lucid explanations. I wish I had it when I was younger.
