Hello i downloaded a style and then upladed it to my templates folder. Can someone please help walk me through how to install it from there. I am alittle confused. I know i have to then go into the management part of the forum but from there i am lost. Thanks in advance

In the administration panel, go to: styles manager (its somewhere on the panel) then , click on: "add", then you will see the style you just uploaded, click on: 'install'.
Then the template is installed
now you can choose it as a forum style 
To set it as default style, go to "configuration" and look for something called
"default style"
You can also change the style/template in your profile.

there is nothing that says "install".
ok, upload the templae in the folder called: "templates"
then, go to you administration panel, if you are on your administration panel,
find a button/link called: "export" or "add" not sure wich one it is...
try both of them.
then, if you found the right one, you should see the style/template you just uploaded (the name of it) and then just behind the name of the template there should be a button/link called: "install"

for export the name for this style is within the list to select... but when i select it and hit submit it doesn't do anything... just leaves me this message.
The template you selected has no themes attached to it. To create a new theme click the Create New link on the left hand panel

well, that's it. You have to build your own theme; or maybe search for an other template/style.
step by step phpbb style installing guide
1. Download / Make your own style.
2. upload it in the .../templates/ folder
3. Go to your administration panel
4. go to "add" or "export" (not sure wich one)
5. Click on: "install" (should be behind the template name)
6. The template will be installed now

In step one... how would i Make my own style. All i did was download one from the website... and then unzip the files and upload the then files to the templates/folder
got it to work... sorry i never capitalized the first letter of the folder
