The Sims

Jordan
G'day All,

In my personal opinion I believe one of the best high graphic, addictive games is the sims. With so many add ons etc this game just gets more and more addictive. If you haven't played the sims, it is a virtual life game only it is on the computer screen and you have to keep the house clean, etc etc. You must make them sleep, do the dishes, make dinner, make bed and everything else you do in normal everyday life. The sims can be played on Playstation, Xbox, Gamecube and PC. You can find the game in a regular computer/game shop. It's a great game. But can get boring if you play a little to much lol.

The Sims is the best-selling game of all time... It even surpassed the record sales by the ground breaking adventure game MYST! Smile Cool

Personally I prefer the sims 2, it's graphically better and in my opinion more playable.

I do enjoy Sims, but I only seem to play in short bursts (well, relatively short - 1 week), more as a break from City of Heroes than anything else.

Just picked up Sims 2: University recently, and it's a great addition (if bug ridden).
Dustin
i wouldnt call it high graphic, but i would call it addictive. The hours (probaly days) i wasted away playing that game is a discrase. I musta lost like 5 social points playing that game, but at the same time i alwase had full fun, because my CMPT gave me 9 fun Razz

Just too many expansion packs....
Hope the Sims 2 doesn't go down that road, hope Mr Anderson was right about inevitabity.

The Sims is great for about 5 minutes, then I get bored with it. I still want to get the Sims 2 to play it but I am broke. (Anyone wanna donate 60 bucks to my PayPal?)

Yeah, I like The sims too. It is different with other computer games. Maybe this makes me like it. But I have got bored with it. There is another new expansion coming out soon, a business expansion. Can't wait to try it. Very Happy

I like the sims but after while its gets boring that is why they continiously make new addons to make it interesting again and to not lose any players

Just got a copy of The Sims 2 (PS2 version) for my wife and I think they have revamped the gameplay in order for it to fit the gameplay style for a console.

My wife is currently immersed with fun on the sims creation mode but on my own opinion, it isn't as much flexible like the PC version.

Well anyway, as long as my wife enjoys it, then I have no big complaint about this version of The Sims 2. But for Sims fanatics out there, it's better to grab the PC version than any console version of The Sims 2. Definitely worth every cent of your hard earned cash! Very Happy Cool

sims is a very beautiful game. but sometimes i get bored by the span of the game. anyway, if you have time to waste, you can play sims..
Code of Ruin
Though I am no fan of the sims i must admit that it is nicely made. The graphics are quite good. The gameplay isn't repetetive, sims just keeps on going. And it is quite funny when one of those little suckers get's burned or drowns or whatever.
dcshoes23
I haven't played Sims for so long, i only played the first one and ya, it was really adictive. I really like the concept and think they did a really good job. I'm going to have to get Sims 2 and try that out if I can find any time, maybe I'll become addicted again??? Very Happy

Thanks

I like the original games of the sims, but I don't think they were very amazing. When I bought an add-on, I always played with the new features of that add-on. That was very nice. So I bought another add-on. That one was very nice too, until I didn't like it anymore. I like to design my house and stuff.
Hatchman33
I did like the sims myself eventhough i played some of the earlies versions of the game i did like the idea of being able to control a family of my own and do as i please with this. Wink The game seems fun and I am still looking foward to playing some of the latest ones out on the market.
CASINOX
Well, playing Sims 2 is kind of interesting when I first started playing it, but it gets boring if you get to know all the people and maybe marry the girl you like, then after that, it's really nothing more but let the time keep on going and going and I was never able to play it to the end.
Scudge
The Sims not my game but it's looking damn good Laughing
PADRE[P.S.]
I heared, that The Sims is the most popular and best selling game in US, but in Ukrain and Russia it never had success. As for me, i think, its more interesting to live the Real Life, but not to play life with computer and prove it, who is a better judge of life.
zoombinimatt
Sims 1 was cool but The sims 2 is really cool, espescially after updating my graphics card. With the expansion packs you can make a guy who is an Alien AND a zombie AND a vampire Muhahaha.

But generally i think those are great games due to the fact you can do whatever you want, like in most MMOs
windval
you mean the sims 1 or 2

2 of course is more funny

but it occupy more disk space
midoelwerwary
thanks so much

2 is better
Iris
I like the sims 2 Very Happy

Don't you mean Sims 2, That game really makes the first look like an amature. I do like the 1st but I find the second a hell lot better with its significant improvements.
Ms.Pseudo
The Sims 2 is my favourite game. After I found the Legacy Challenge, I have played it about 10 hours/week. I even do have a blog about my Legacy-family Very Happy . I'm also member of the Legacy Challenge Yahoo group, which is mailing list, and because of its lacks, I decided to make my own forum about LEgacy Challenge. And that's the reason I'm here. If you are fan of The Sims 2, please send me private message, I would like to chat more about Sims.

Very easy solution, go buy 'The Sims Complete Collection.' I got it at bestbuy.com, it surprised me that it was just $39.99! I've owned every expansion pack, but they all got lost, damaged, etc; and extremely pricy to keep replacing over and over and over. Anyway, the complete colloection is just one volume, and it's four discs. It makes it very simple, and includes exclusive content. It has every single feature from every single expansion pack (all 7!!), and the bonus objects/skins from things like Deluxe Edition. It includes all the patches, The Sims Creator, blah, blah, blah.

I've still never, and never plan on, taking a liking to The Sims 2. That includes all its expansions. I much prefer the original and it's expansions. How many people think you can state all the expansions in exact order, from memory?

I forgot to mention, I am not opposed to cheats entirely, unlike all the other experts I know. It's amazing how much of the old motivations can be resparked by codes like "move_objects" and "sim_speed." I don't like the idea of cheating for money, just because I'm honest and I'm an expert (especially with really pricy house designs). Anyway, if you want to work around the 7 order-sensitive expansion packs, just get the complete collection.

(By the way, the order is: Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar, and Makin' Magic)

I infrequently play just to torture the sims for my own amusement. I sometimes enjoy playing just because I think it's entertaining to make a couple of chicks fall in love with each other (I'm strongly morally opposed to such ideas, but it can be fun to because I can). That's only when my girlfriend is too busy, AND I run out of homework, AND I run out of ideas for making my own games, AND I get sick of every single game I have -so that's pretty rare. As for cheats, other than what I said above, I mostly just don't like them. I don't hate them, that's for sure. But still, I don't necessarily like them. If I want to make a house, I just click an empty lot (or bulldoze one), put forth every essence of my rapidly-growing house designing sim skills, then spend a couple of days making my new family earn enough cash to buy it. I almost always make a family family, not because I need to make cash quicker, but because in my well-tested theorum, social happens to be one of the three most influential factors in overall mood. By the way, the three are 'fun, social, and energy,' in all my testing, you can raise all the others all you want, but if these are low, even just 2 of them, you probably won't have enough mood points to build many skill points. The only controversy in my current series of testing, is that 'comfort' also tends to be important, but it mostly only makes notably high effects in addition to energy, and unless your sims fall asleep standing up, they tend to refill at the same time. 'Hygeine' (probably spelled wrong) can have major effect on the social (who wants to make love to somebody who just got sprayed by a skunk?).
