Hillary playing the race card to slam bush..

..Also blames Katrina on the Admin.

Quote:

(AP) Sen. Hillary Clinton on Monday blasted the Bush administration as "one of the worst" in U.S. history and compared the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to a plantation where dissenting voices are squelched.

She is not "playing the race card"...
What she is saying about Bush is true, just because it happens to revolve around race is not "playing the card", but speaking the truth.

Nonetheless, I'm glad she said something - also, the article was barely focused on race, it was more about how people in the government tend to carry the same corrupt views, and anyone who disagrees is "shunned" (so to speak)

Yes, because of course the article which you're referring to clearly states that Hilary Clinton says that - she's that type of woman, to say it straight out, you know. How did I ever miss that?

And she wants to be the president. This makes me laugh.

What's sad is that I was considering voting for her. Shocked

I'm glad she's coming out of the closet and showing her true colors.

What the hell is up with that anyway?

I mean really. Some richy rich white girl pulling the race card for votes?

How much more racist can you get?
Tiger
That kind of thing has always sickened me. If you want to get elected you should really care about something important and let people know that you care. Then you should go out and show just how much you care by your actions.

For example, if you care about the environment, say so and show that you care by recycling, etc - and not just until the votes are in - it should be your way of life.

Baby kissing makes me puke. Go help out in a hospice or something in your free time, even after you are elected! Of course, since most politicians are just there for money and power and the easy life (for themselves), you can't realistically expect them to care about real people now can you?

I did once hear that the "Governator" actually unscrewed lightbulbs in his family home if his wife or kids left them on after being reminded to save electricity.

That's actually pretty cool, and it doesn't surprise me. Maybe we should start doing that around my house, my brother leaves every light on, his computer on, his stereo on, his TV on, everything on - even if he's out of the house!

Anyways, Hillary Clinton just in general angers me. And although I once didn't mind her, it seems that things like this just make her so much more unappealing to me. I thought she wouldn't be all too bad, but I don't know now.

What is this world coming to?

Jesus Christ, not everything is racist.

Just because you accidently step on an Asian's foot does not make you racist, just because you bump into an Hispanic in the store does not make you racist. It seems that anytime race is uttered someone finishes with "I'm not racist" or says someone else is, and it's getting pathetic.

Racism is hoarding hate or believing a race is superior than another, and until you can prove what Hilary (or anyone else for that matter) is thinking and feeling, not based on what she says or doesn't say, you can't label her or anyone else racist.

From the Chicago Tribune opinion article "Plantation politics revisited, again" (free registration, use Bug Me Not if you aren't too squeamish) by Clarence Page. Sorry that it's kinda long, but it's vary good.

Quote:
If you're a sensitive sort, put in your earplugs. The brutal ugliness of presidential campaign politics has already begun, judging by the manufactured indignation of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's critics over her "plantation" crack.

Quote:
I, for one, wonder, "What's the big deal?" "Plantation politics" is an old metaphor in black community politics. A Dec. 13, 1987, Chicago Tribune article traced the phrase to a speech that political consultant Don Rose wrote in 1966 for then-Ald. Timuel Black's crusade against the Democratic machine of Mayor Richard J. Daley. It later became a rallying cry in Harold Washington's successful 1983 campaign to become the city's first black elected mayor.

Quote:
[...}There's no denying the fact that the word has a special power among African-Americans. According to Robert Franklin, a theology professor at Emory University, the word is "shorthand for an immoral concentration of resources, exclusion and the arrogance of a company's unchecked power."

Or a legislature's unchecked power. After all, Newt Gingrich made the same comparison in 1994, just before he became speaker of the House: "Since they think it is their job to run the plantation," he said of the Democrats who controlled the House, "it shocks them that I'm actually willing to lead the slave rebellion."

And his conclusion:

Quote:
Or maybe there's something else at work here. Maybe it is not what Sen. Clinton said that mattered as much as who said it.

She might have hyped up her hyperbole a bit, but anybody who says she's wrong hasn't been paying much attention to Congress in recent years.

Take the night of Dec. 21, for example, when Vice President Dick Cheney flew halfway around the world to cast the deciding vote on a budget that took health care and nursing-home care away from as many as 100,000 people with income below the poverty line. It also saddled low-income college kids with extra debt. And it took away $5 billion to help states track down deadbeat dads and collect child-support payments. Estimated loss in child support to kids: $8 billion.

These cuts and more were made in order to regain some of the deficit caused by tax cuts for those of us who are fortunate enough to be in the upper-income brackets. Thanks, Congress. Meanwhile, Democrats could do little but sit on the sidelines and complain about how little review or open debate the mammoth bill received before its late-night rush to passage.

Newt Gingrich had it right. Plantation masters should not be surprised to see a rebellion. Maybe we'll see one in this year's elections.

This was pretty obvious to everyone before Hilary stepped in. She only had teh guts to go out there and say what everyone else wanted to say, and I congratualte her on that!!! If you ask me it was better on if Bush was never reinstated in government, I mean seriously what he has done not only to the countries he attacked but America itself.

He firstly brought its economy down, and then he brought its reputation down as being the strongest country. I mean Iran is not afraid to fight or Syria. What is next, he is gonna go and just sell the country to someone else?

Americans have to stand up and do soemthign about that, I am sure you have the right somewhere there lol watch "FAHRENHEIT 9/11"

I was already considering my reply to this completely mis-informed member, something along the lines of "you've been listening to MM haven't you?". But then I kept reading on and BLAM!

He discredited himself without me having to say a word about MM.

BTW, America IS doing something... we're fighting terrorists and their supporters. Don't like it? Too bad. I personally don't care what the rest of teh world thinks. We were attacked by cowards on 9/11 and we're going to keep fighting the good fight until we win. Period.

You obviously don't have the necessary intelligence to realize that the US economy is STILL extremely strong, even after all the crap that, by all rights, should have put the US into a depression 3 times over. Iran is trying to get nukes so they don't have to worry about who they attack next, and lastly, it's not a reputation thing about being the strongest country in the world, it's a military, monitary thing.
SunburnedCactus
I certainly don't think the public has been as aware of the power of the US in recent years as it is now, and Bush has done a lot to demonstrate this. Far more than Clinton did.

As far as damaging the economy goes, I thought that myth had been thoroughly dispelled by now.

And lets not get started on ol' Mr. Moore, eh?

I understand that this come from an American and it should be like this, you have to stand up for you country once in a while. But you also have to admit that Goerge W. Bush is a bad seed in the lines of the presidents of the united states of America. I mean I do not know if you heard but it was all over European news and I think Canadian too that America has a total of 23 torture prisons in Europe. The EU is now fed up and are asking what America is doing to its people, and sadly it is once again the Muslims being tortured.

But what is funnier is that America has one prison which is called "The Black Prsion" where only black people are. Racism??? You decide!

That's you opinion. Nothing more. The media has a way of painting a picture that's not true. Take a look around, they do it all the time.

Ahh, the old reliable 'race card'. Played often enough by the ill-informed left, they can make a case look good when there would otherwise be no case.

Provide proof of said torture prisons or STFU. I have looked for proof and all I've found is the moon-bat democrats tossing a bunch of lies around trying to make the Admin look bad. (A few prime examples; Bush lied (even though they all knew). No WMD (Saddams own General, Georges Sara or something, addmitted they had them and they were moved to Syria when Saddam knew the UN and US were coming for him). Wrong War, Wrong Time (even though they ALL supported it) Bush caused Katrina (or any other variant you'd like to inject), Bush hates black folk, (Condi Rice? Duh!) Bush eats babies. Shocked )

Can't blame them, though. I'd be pissed too if my party was so ef'd up that they've shunned most level-headed members of their own party, ran themselves out of congress, the senate, the house, the supreme court, and just about every other major power-weilding office. Oh, wait, I can too blame them... and did. That's why I'm no longer a dumbocrat.

Problem is, they're so dumb that they don't know how to fix it. They think by turnign loose and supporting comments/lies from the left-wing bomb throwers that the public will turn on the repubs.

(Pssst... it's not working, left. Try a different strategy )

CNNGALLUP SHOCK POLL: ONLY 16% FIRM ON HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT
Wed Jan 25 2006 10:50:26 ET

Most voters now say there's no way they'd vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2008 - while just 16 percent are firmly in her camp, a stunning new poll shows.

CNNGALLUP found that 51 percent say they definitely won't vote for Clinton (D-N.Y.) in 2008, another 32 percent might consider it, and only 16 percent vow to back her. That means committed anti-Hillary voters outnumber pro-Hillary voters by 3-1. The poll suggests she can forget about crossover votes - 90 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of conservatives say there's no way they'd back her.

Meanwhile, 46% said they would oppose Secretary of State Rice if she ran for President - a step Rice has repeatedly said she won't take.

You have got a really good sense of humour S3ND K3YS, lol Very Happy . But then again that will not take you far, oh by the way you wanted some proof about the torture prisons - well here you go:

Heres another site:

Seems America has been moving people so as to make up a new lie, and they have there own definition for torture. How interesting, so you say you do nto do torture yet you make your own definition for it. Wonder what that coudl be?

See Yea my American friend!!!
