I use Dashboard for running widgets and for making them I just make them by hand.
I use konfabulator which is now yahoo widgets. I Like the dashboard for the new mac os tiger and i feel that yahoo widgets are the closest i can get to that for a pc running windows.
Does anyone know of any good apps to run widgets for linux?
thanx
I don΄t know witget engine for linux.
f you know someone tellme please!!
You can use Perl/tk, Tcl/Tk GTK which can give good features to make very sophisticated widgets.

Some example??
My AstroTwister Widget is pretty cool, and it's developed by yours truely!!
I originally developed it so you could have the planets revolve around eachother on your desktop, but the latest version includes a pretty cool clock, and navigation bar so you can read information on the planets.
Overall I like the widget that I've created and the response has been incredible. People like it!
I make some Dashboard widgets. I just code them all by hand, perty easy stuff.

I, too, would like to see this in action. I know you can use perl to run google desktop gadgets, but I didn't know you could use perl to run konfabulator widgets.
All I want to know is where you point the "#!/usr/bin/perl" statement, and I will be set.
The only widget I ever made is the Rss feed widget for Opera for my blog.
I use a few widgets in Opera. Also I have previously used Yahoo Widgets Engine/Konfabulator.
Had tried DesktopX at one time, but didnt like it much.
